Without LG350, I would not have felt adequately prepared to teach Spanish. This class was the most relevant in class to my job after college. I learned some much about teaching methodologies from Dr. Compton. He is very approachable and helpful.

Dr. Compton geniunely cares about Spanish and about inspiring his students creativity and education. He can be a little nerdy sometimes but it is what makes him an endearing figure in the Language Department. Prepare to dedicate some time for his homework but you will come out more knowledgeable by the semester's end.

Dr. Compton is a very sweet and approachable instructor. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about his subject which is very helpful. However, he makes you work for a good grade. Expect to spend 90 minutes per night on his course's homework alone.

A very approachable and available instructor. He truly wants success for his students. The homework can be quite time consuming but the most difficult part of the class was attendance, mainly because it was at 8am. However, he made the class truly interesting with his lessons, personal insight on Spain, and the reading materials.

Dr. Compton truly is a sweet and soft-spoken man. His passion for the Spanish language really made the class worthwhile. He is dedicated to his job and to his students and it shows. I found the homework was high in quantity rather than quality but it does perfect your skills after a while. One of the gems of the Languages Department.

Compton is an awesome professor that really wants his students to learn. He forces you to practice speaking Spanish every day in his classes. My only complaint was intentionally I felt like we were doing SO much busy work, but I realized the journals and compositions we have been writing have drastically improved my past tense Spanish.

Dr. Compton is very clear in his expectations for homework and tests. This class was all analysis, with take-home exams. I learned a lot, but I did have to put a lot of time into this class (there is a lot of homework). He is a fair grader, and genuinely wants his students to do well.

One of the most helpful professors on campus. His classes are a little more difficult, but I got a lot out of it, and he loves what he teaches, and will go above and beyond to help a student out.

A good intro to Spain! I really enjoyed the student presentations, they added uniqueness to the class. Plan on doing at least an hour of homework each class period. Good professor, loves the topic and keeps things interesting.

Good Professor. Really knows his Spanish. Lots of reading and analysis of literature- got a bit repetitive. Good sense of humor. If you show up and do your homework (there is a lot) you will do well on tests (which are also analysis, no memorization. required). I learned a lot. I would recommend.

Very repetitive. He's a great guy and really cares about the students, but the homework is the same thing every night with a different story and we do the same thing in class every day. Class gets a little long, but he tries to make interesting.

He is helpful, but the homework policy kinda sucks and sometimes his grading is a little wacky. He's super nice, though.
