Lecture's are long and you doze off... only a midterm, final and 2 take home projects. He takes forever to grade everything so you dont really know what you did wrong until a month later... Gives review sheets for the midterm and final so as long as you go to his lectures and pay half attention you should be fine

I wouldn't take this class unless you're majoring in it. Took it as a required course the whole time he was lecturing no one was paying attention very easy to zone out of and doesn't stay consistent with his actual teaching as he spends a lot of time talking about his personals adventures. He grades very harsh on papers. Tests are on vocab terms.

I only had 3 assignments for the entire semester, which is good if you are following the material in class, bad if you aren't paying attention. The assigned textbook was expensive so I did not get it and was fine studying for the exams with just google. It is hard to get info during lectures because he uses his own knowledge to describe pictures.

Dont take this class unless you have to. His lectures are very boring. Hes a TERRIBLE grader. The review sheets he gives for the midterm/final are not helpful. He literally takes months to grade everything. The museum reports must be done exactly to his liking. He does seems very passionate on the subject. Just doesnt teach well.

Alright so he's a great professor and cares about his students, but if you're not GENUINELY interested in archaeology, then stop what you're doing and take this class off your catalog. If you're not an anthro major and don't absolutely NEED this class, you will instantly regret ever taking it because the content, lectures and projects are BORING.

This is the single worst teacher Ive ever had, As someone who has always loved to learn(I can probably tell you more about astrophysics than anyone would care to hear) , but his lectures could not be more boring, I dreaded coming to his class. Take anyone else, youll thank me later.

really bad. Avoid at all costs, unless required for final. He is nice guy, but is a horrible teacher, digresses too much, hard grader, bad comments, and actually thinks he is a good teacher and he also gives too much useless information in lectures. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

I had positive thoughts going into this class. I was truly disappointed with his teaching techniques. i studied very hard for his tests and especially the final. The review sheet he gave us for the final reflected nothing that was on the actual test. lowest grade i have ever received. Good luck to anyone taking this class.

I was hoping he would make Archaeology fun and interesting but he completely disappoints. His lectures are boring, he digresses a lot, and uses old technology. It's really hard to pay attention! His grading is harsh and barely gives any feedback. He's a really nice old man but his class is a NO. Stay away unless it's a major requirement!

Do not recommend if you're looking to get a requirement out of the way! He doesn't hand assignments back on time, and you will have to spend A LOT of time studying to actually pass a simple anthro class. Good luck!!

This is one of the greatest professors in anthro department. He is not very laud speaker so try to sit in front to hear his lectures. If you do so, you will notice that his lectures are very entertaining and interesting. If you make affords to seek his help, he can be very helpful, even spending hours by his office door, speaking to his students.

I am a A student and because he is the slowest grader of life, I didn't know how I was doing to withdraw from the class in time and indeed did I get my first F of my college career. Terrible professor, late grader, harsh grade, and did I mention I'm a good student?

long, boring lectures. he rarely gets to the point of his lecture. the museum assignments weren't too difficult, just look at things with a different perspective. spelling counts, pay attention in lecture (i couldn't stop falling asleep, i was so bored to death), your textbook is your best friend in this class because the lectures go nowhere.

Terrible professor. Have to keep up with reading. If you have no interest in archaeology- do not take this class. Grades unfairly on projects. Tests are okay, as long as you pay attention to his boring lectures and keep up with reading. Terrible class. I hope to never witness something like this ever again...

He is the most boring Professor ever. He rambles about 1 slide for almost an hour then complains that his lesson plan is behind. He says he doesn't expect us to spell words 100% correctly or to do projects to his standards, yet takes points away for misspellings & for not knowing things that he does.I hope to never take another class like his again.

Attendance is mandatory! Make sure you go to class. His slides are always interesting, since he takes most of the pictures himself. Listen well, because what he tells you will be on the test. Museum projects are so simple, but make sure you spell everything correctly!
