Made an account just to tell y'all his linguistics class is excellent. He's loud and boisterous, but doesn't use canvas at all.

Im now a college professor, and I can easily say that without taking Prof. Budds classes that would have never happened. He is present, thoughtful, shrewd, generous, incisive, provocative, provocative, did I say provocative?, and an absolute inspiration. Take him if you care about yourself or anything or higher education at all. Absolute gem!

Funny, friendly guy. You should be interested in linguistics to take a linguistics class in the first place, or you'll find it a bore. Cheap textbook. Hard to figure out what he wants you to know for each of the 3 exams, questions about topics from what feels like forever ago popped up. No study guide. Hard to take notes, theyre all over the place.

First part of the class is about the history of linguistics and learning about the general education of which can be quite difficult if you aren't someone who likes that kind of stuff. After that he goes more into practical usage of Linguistics which I found fascinating. Definitely inspiring if you enjoy learning those fun facts of language.

I definitely think I learned a lot in this class. Only thing is that his tests are tough so be sure to study everything. He's not a study guide kind of professor, so if you want to take this class to transfer, be careful.

Budd is FANTASTIC. If you want to seriously learn about literature, you need to take his class. He's wonderfully comedic and I wish he wasn't retiring so I can maintain a good friendship with him.

He's definitely a fair guy, but a very strict grader. If he catches you plagiarizing or anywhere close to it, it's over. He gives in class essays, which are fine, but grades quite strictly on them. Would I take him again? Nope. Also, I didn't learn anything from his class. We did use a text book for maybe half of the semester. Overall, avoid.

Prof Budd is one of the most sarcastic and engaging teachers at DVC. He would always come into class a couple of minutes late and start the class with something funny to say. Most of the class time we would just spend time discussing the complex stories we had to read the previous night. Just pay attention in class and you will pass with an A!

Semester just over. Need to re-take the class with different teacher. Essays were pointless and difficult. He is boring and I did not enjoyed to going to his class at all. Same goes for my classmates as well. Good Luck!

Nice and funny guy. Gives his class a very comfortable atmosphere and makes it his job to learn your name. He cares about your grade if you do. 4 take home essays and 3 in class, all easy if you attend and pay attention in class.

SO FUNNY. Professor Budd is so hilarious! I'm the quiet one that never really says anything in class but he managed to make me feel so comfortable. Minimal homework, four in class essays, four typed but there is no minimum pages for the writing and he drops the lowest in class. TAKE HIM!

An incredibly difficult and arrogant teacher. Apparently, he missed the memo that online students generally take online classes because they CAN'T meet up on campus. Accused me of plagiarism, even though I cited the show from where I got my information. Then demanded I had to meet with him and threatened my grade if I didn't. BAD teacher.

Mr.Budd showed an amazing lack of concern other! He keeps the class dull. You will feel waste of time in his class. He is a picky grader. I barely pulled off a c, even though you work very hard. Mostly in class essays, at home essays, and responses to the book (short stories). Not recommended! You will learn nothing.

He is not my favorite professors! Budd thinks himself is so intelligent and it do not respect students. I didn't learned anything from his lecture. All of our papers were based on short stories we read, and you wouldn't know your grades until the end of semester. Definitely not recommended.
