He's a nice guy, but he really isn't the best at teaching the math. He contradicts himself a lot and makes a lot of mistakes when teaching us lessons. He's a lenient grader though when it comes to the exams. 3 tests and a final that reuses the same questions. If you memorize how he does certain problems verbatim you can get at least a C.

Gives incredibly easy homeworks but then polar opposite tests which the majority of the class fails. Then refuses to curve, even though the majority of the class fails the tests, and doesn't give any extra credit to help bring your grade up

If you want an easy A, he's your man. If you want to learn Java, I advise not to enroll with this professor. I can see that he's an honest man trying his best during lecture, but honestly I learned more from the assigned homework readings on zyBooks - which btw are very tedious to do. The programming assignments were easy as well.

Prof Boustique's lectures were very useful in my experience. He explained concepts with clarity. No major complaints there. Structure-wise, I found his class to work pretty well for me too. We had readings and homeworks usually every week, which were easy. The projects were trickier, but really they weren't that hard, they just took some time.

be ready to shell out 75 bucks for zybooks homework due weekly. Do exam review that he gives you. The questions are more tricky than hard.

Spring 2021 Object-oriented programming. He gives excellent and understandable basic examples when introducing new coding concepts. You do need to have prerequisite C under your belt before taking. UCF supplied TAs with prior A in the course who were also easily available during Covid19. Zybooks also used, plan more study time.

Boustique is a great guy. He explains things clearly and is available to answer questions when you have them. Plenty of practice assignments outside of lecture for you to practice and understand material. Homework is easy to do and gain from. If you're learning Java for the first time, attend lecture and actually do homework. You'll be fine!

He doesn't give any notes. He teaches by just going through examples that he obviously didn't prepare for. Sometimes he doesn't even know how to solve them. I had to learn everything from those "Watch It" options from the homework. He will try to be fun and call the class boring if they don't converse with him. We just wanted him to teach.

He taught new concepts in Calc 2 by working out problems for the class, but would pepper in intentional mistakes that the class would have to catch with no prior understanding of the concept. This made it extremely confusing to try to grasp new concepts during class. There were many pop quizzes as well, which were worth 10% of the grade.

Stay on top of the work and you'll be fine. The final exam was VERY similar to the other two exams. Recommended to work in groups but I did it solo with no problem. Projects were easy but a new language can be scary. Java is easy to pick up so it shouldn't be bad as long as you work ahead and pay attention. Very easy A.

The way he taught was by working with code on Eclipse using topics that we already read in our homework. The homework is very tedious but helps if youre new to Java. His exams arent too bad if you know the concepts well. Although, in the last exam, some of the questions were very similar to each other which made it harder to find the difference.

Amazing professor! His lectures are really helpful. So if you're struggling, make sure you attend lectures. He gives out his phone number so you can reach him anytime for questions or help. Fair amount of work. Three projects and three exams (including final). You have sufficient time for homework and projects and his exams are easy. Easy A class!

Very caring professor who really enjoys participation in lecture. A lot of online Pearson homework, but that goes for the whole MAS3105 because of the math department. There is a disconnect between the online homework and the exams. If you want to do well on an exam you need to do additional textbook problems, especially ones that more proof-like.

Get ready to teach yourself Discrete Math. Not a pleasant experience. Tests are challenging, but it's doable. Didn't enjoy the professor's sense of humor.

Never went to a lecture and I have a 100 approaching end of semester. Zybooks readings are straightforward and simple, his quizzes/tests are ridiculously easy. I feel like I learned quite a bit about Java but at the same time I'm not sure because the tests felt like they could be passed by someone who has never seen Java. Class too easy? IDK, maybe

Class was set up where the majority of the learning came from ZyBooks and his Zoom meetings were set up to answer questions or go through problems together. Going through and taking notes from the ZyBooks and then watching his Zoom before HW deadlines or exams was my best learning approach for this class. Tests were reasonable and open book.

Professor Boustique is an awesome professor when you get in person atmosphere (even zoom is close), he opens up his life to use as office hours, he gives you his telephone number, he zooms with you to help your understanding, he does whatever it takes. I took him before, but now I had the zoom/ F to F option. This class is zybooks heavy but doable.

I took Professor Boustique's online C language class as the last option as I just transferred into UCF as part of direct connect. He is a phenomenal prof. But I think the hands on component of a live Face to Face class is the key to education, Youtube videos, and emails don't cut it. I got very close, but it may just take some more effort.

Comment:
Dr. B's OOP section was acceptable. Did not attend a single lecture; everything besides projects/exams are from ZyBooks. ZyBooks spent way too much time on programming fundamentals - stuff we had already covered in Intro to C - and not enough... you know... OOP. Grading was sometimes inconsistent, but he is forgiving and caring. A safe choice.
