Not sure if she got worse throughout the years, because she was not a good professor. Her material was very difficult, and she read off a slide every single class. This is impossible to learn from. She yelled at the entire class because we ALL failed an exam.. but to me that seems like it may be your fault if not one person passed.

Professor Brown is excellent at her job. What you need to know, she will teach you. Her lectures are funny and exciting, but they can drag on. I would recommend reading the book; it will come in handy. There were a tremendous amount of papers due this semester, but you will use the information taught to you. I highly recommend Professor Brown!!!

Dr. Brown is my girl. She is such an awesome professor as well as an advisor, I highly recommend you to take her class. I've taken a class in person as well as online with Dr. Brown. If you are determined to learn, you won't miss a beep. I prefer to take her class in person than online because you get to know her personality, you won't regret it!

Dr. Brown is an amazing teacher who brings life to the material! Her work assignments can be difficult, but if you ask questions, she is more than willing to help. She's an OG but don't let that intimidate you, she is knowledgeable, caring, and KNOWS WHAT SHE IS DOING

Dr. Brown is awesome! HDV 325 had no exams, just papers. Her lectures are awesome, and she talks a lot about her daughters. You feel like she cares about you on the individual level. I always got great grades and throughly enjoyed taking this class.

Loved her! such a great teacher, the class was so interesting I didn't mind waking up early for it. Her tests aren't meant to trick you and if you study you'll be fine, she's really runny and relatable!

I have taken at least three classes with Dr. Brown, and can say that she is my favorite professor at SUNY Oswego. She always finds a way to make the information interesting and humorous, and never fails to emphasize the importance of the topics (gerontology, human development, etc.). I will always recommend taking any of her classes!

Love HDV 101! Dr. Brown made this class so enjoyable that I declared as a Human Development major by the end of the semester! The class is not hard, just pay attention in class and do the five homework assignments and you will do fine.

I absolutely loved Dr. Brown. Her sense of humor is relatable and her stories/analogies are priceless. She runs her class with a powerpoint, but has open class discussion. It's a very feel good, at home class. Grading can be tough. She is highly experienced and educated. You will need to read the book. She posts all her notes online. LOVED CLASS!

Very enthusiastic, understands and enjoys the material she teaches. I took this course as an elective and, although there is a lot of information you need to memorize for tests, I never complained about waking up at 8 to get there. It was enjoyable and very relatable.

OHMYGOSH TAKE THIS CLASS. PROFESSOR BROWN IS THE BEST PROF YOU WILL EVER HAVE. Didn't do much in class, theres no tests in class only a midterm and final paper and research paper but she is not a harsh grader! She loves her job and has the best stories ever!! She is wicked funny. I didn't need this class it was random but the best part of my day!!

Great professor. Extremely helpful. Lots of Extra credit opportunities. She's funny, active and talk loud. Class is never boring. She makes you really think. Test material is all on the notes. do not need a textbook. Passed her class too easy. Deff recommend to other students. Just show respect and read the notes.

I took hdv325 and hdv120 with brown and really liked her. Classes are not boring, she tells funny stories and gets the class involved. For 120 everything is on the power points and 325 the exams are papers which are time consuming but not hard. Great professor!

She's a knowledgeable professor. She is KNOWN FOR REPORTING MANY STUDENTS FOR PLAGIARISM, so make sure you have your essays/papers edited and revised by more than one person before handing them in. She doesn't care if you didn't do it on purpose, she feels a need to report any type of plagiarism. Please choose a different professor!!
