Tests may not be what he says, but life throws you curveballs

I did all the assignments, did well on the in class test and always showed up. I didnt do too great on the final, but my grade on blackboard was an 82 With it factored in. Thats a B- but he gave me a C+ overall. A few guys in my class who didnt do the work and got in trouble for talking almost every class got As and Bs.

With no intention on teaching computer programming, Paul turned the 8 AM class into a time to rant about politics and berate students about how little math they knew. There was never any feedback and it was a mystery whether he ever looked at any assignments that were turned in. It wouldn't matter much- he refused to help with assignments anyway.

He stopped using the textbook the second day of class. All he does is go on rants about math and teach us how to do things completely unrelated to the class. When people question him and tell him that he is not teaching the right information he gets angry. He gives assignments, expects us to know how to do them and then doesn't grade them.

He had this philosophy that because "we bought the textbook, he's not going to stand in front of the class and repeat what's in the textbook," which fundamentally is understandable. However, we're also paying for him to teach us. I felt like I was taking Spanish 2 without ever learning beginner Spanish. Avoid if possible.

The man is straight garbage. Straight up. How he still has a job amazes me. All he does is put the code on the board during lecture and there are so many different concepts and methods and such that he does not explain very well at all. I suggest having a very strong background of comp sci. You will find yourself having to teach yourself.

He is extremely rude and gets off topic during his lectures quite easily. He will ignore your questions until the end of the lecture and then will barely help you. He tells you that if you don't understand something, then you do not belong in the class. Meanwhile, he switches from comp sci 1 to comp sci 2 so it's very hard to follow along.

Terrible professor. He is very rude to all of the students, he will call you out for anything that he believes is rude. He kicked a student out for laughing once and yelled at another student for looking at their test. He does not teach, he just goes over the code. His tests are very difficult.

If you don't have profound background knowledge of computer science and programming, I suggest you not to take his class. He doesn't respect nor care his students. Even though you study hard what he gave and what he told, the exam tells different things and even beyond subjects. Also he is hardly approachable in class or outside of class.

TERRIBLE PROFESSOR! He lost ALL of the in- class exams we took throughout the semester, gave us our final grades weeks after they were due, and had to change his grading policy to make the final count as 50% of the overall grade due to his mistake. Useless lectures where you stare at code, & the man doesn't even know how to work technology.

The guy expects you to already be a lawyer to take his classes. This was a basic course and he taught it like a law school class. I got a 35 on the first test and nobody in the class got much better. He calls on students to answer a question then interupts to say his own thing and then yells at you that you arent prepared for class. Worst professor

He missed a lot of classes, and told us our attendance was mandatory. He has a somewhat offensive demeanor but tries to apologize for it seemingly half-heartedly. Told us to purposely study the wrong material for the final which angered a lot of the class. The whole computer science department, especially the grad level seems dysfunctional.

Zuckerman is far and away the worst teacher I have had at New Paltz thus far. He doesn't explain any of the concepts in class, instead choosing to go over code that he doesn't even clearly explain. He loses grades for students and never posts others and makes the tests incredibly difficult. If it weren't for his curve, everyone would have failed.

I plan on going to Law School, so the assignments and cold calling in class aren't an issue. It's his personality that is terrible. He's incredibly rude to students in class and just plain disrespectful. And don't bother asking a question; he'll just ignore it and spend more class time on rants or talking about himself.

Had him for CS2, absolutely terrible professor. Spent the last 3 weeks of class going over random information such GUI and HTML. None of this information was on the final. He showed up late to class almost every single day. He randomly changes the grading policy. Rarely answers emails. If you miss more than a few lectures you will fail the course.

This is a hard class. I felt like the Data Structures tests were impossible to do well on. He teaches basic ideas of data structures, but the tests are pen and paper and the questions are HARD and complex. Do EVERY lab and assignment. Go to EVERY class, he takes attendance. Office hours are a must, he does take it seriously if you go.

Mr Zuckerman wasted all of the lectures on himself, unrelated material or his money. He's very unapproachable and he doesn't answer questions. His lectures fail to teach the material and it doesn't help you with his high school AP tests, the short notice assignments, or the lab section. Without a doubt, the worst professor I've had.

Its about concepts. If you look at the complaints on here, they are all about he did explain code. He is not supposed to teach coding. Any code or language specifics change within a couple years. Take it from a guy who went back for a MS after 20+ years in the industry. Its about ideas. And Zuckerman explains ideas.
