There were only a few assignments for this course and he is a tough grader which made it hard to do very well. His lectures are dull and sometimes lengthy. His announcements were insanely long and sometimes confusing because he throws so much at you at once. The content was interesting but I dont think I would take a class with him again.

Dreadfully dull lectures. Kind person but I think he just likes to hear himself speak. Graded by SO few things and the grading criteria wasn't given until after you submitted your work. Avoid.

Take phi220 class in Fall so you can hang out at Art Prize! The 2nd half of the semester is basically just reading - draft - final copy x12. The readings are hard, but he goes through them during lecture. Not a difficult class if you keep up w the workload. He's a decent guy who cares about what he's giving lecture on. He rambles but it's philo, so

Do not take this professor. Such a boring class and incredibly hard to follow lectures. I learned absolutely nothing and he grades discussion papers incredibly difficulty for just a 100 level gen ed class. Only benefit is there's no tests.

Comment:
Parker's PHI 220 class was enjoyable during the week of Artprize because we got to just hang around downtown for the class period. But since then, it's been work work work. Assigned 3 discussion papers giving us about a week and a half to work on them. Not very understanding of the fact you have other classes and can't put all effort into his class

Kelly rambles most of the class and his lectures are typically very boring. Most of the time no one would do the discussion papers. Sometimes he isn't clear with what he wants and he doesn't grade discussion papers with a rubric. Your grade will merely be what he felt it was. As long as you show up and are a decent writer, you can pass the class.

Extremely boring prof. For a gen ed class this class is very in depth and he just rambles EVERY class period. I do not recommend this professor.

His lectures were usually rambles about nothing. His feedback on papers were impossible to read and when you ask for help he isn't helpful. However, the class had no tests so it was easy to pass if you are a good writer.

Super boring lectures and very unclear assignment criteria. Even when he hands assignments back you cannot read any of his corrections because his handwriting is horrendous. But if you dare ask him to decode it he will talk to you for 15 minutes about completely irrelevant information. Very, very boring class but not too hard as far as grading.

Great guy Pretty good professor. Lectures are pretty boring and hard to follow but nothing too demanding. Very boring subject to teach and he makes the best of it. No exams just a few papers topped off with a big one in the end. If youre looking for a laid back class take lib with him.

This professor is extremely boring. I learned absolutely NOTHING from this class. However it is an easy A and if you need an easy 3 credits I suggest taking the world's easiest class to get it.

Professor Parker is a very hard professor to get along with according to myself and many of the other students I talked to. He grades papers very hard. Very hard to stay engaged in his class because he is very boring. The lectures didn't teach anything, if it wasn't for his attendance policy there would be no point in showing up. Don't take him.

Lectures make no sense, good class to do other homework in. There's a lot of assigned reading but I'm pretty sure no one in the class ever took it seriously, sparknotes helps a lot. Just go to class and leave halfway through and you wouldn't miss a thing. As long as you write good papers and have a general knowledge of the text it's a guaranteed B

He loves his philosophy. Never took notes in class, never paid attention.. PINTEREST <3 On average I got B's on my paper, watch out for sentence structure and grammar on papers. The class is pointless, which you have to go to, but just compare ideas of philosophers with other classmates to check your work.

If it wasn't for his attendance policy, you could literally not show up and get an A. Every single class I went on reddit on my laptop and you never get tests or quizzes. The only things you have to do is write 5 papers and do the readings (which I didn't even do...hello sparknotes and google) to know what to say for the papers.

Very nice man who is very knowledgeable on all things related to Philosophy. The class is based entirely on 5 or 6 papers and he is not an easy grader. Class is usually irrelevant to what the papers about so nobody really paid attention. Not very easy--would avoid as a gen-ed if possible

He talks a lot. Easy class. Honestly, just show up, raise your hand every now and then and put in minimal effort and you'll get an A. I actually learned a lot from his course. Straightforward assignments and no exams. Just do what he ask you and you can't do wrong. Did I mention he talks a lot?

He's an excellent philosophy professor but a HORRIBLE LIB 100 prof. Not only does he rant on and on and on, his ideas are confusing and barely even makes sense of what liberal education even is. He grades like an english professor, and is a really tough grader. Don't take him for Lib 100, worse professor for this class PERIOD.

He confused himself even. He taught our class information that went directly against what was presented in the book, and confused us all right before a paper was due. Supremely boring professor.

great guy, boring prof, and when I say boring, I mean BORING. He made me so uninterested in everything we talked about. It's super easy to get an A though. If you actually want to learn though, do NOT take him. If you don't care, well, he doesn't either.
