Jim Pfister is NOT what people are making him seem like on this thread; for the most part as you can see the students claiming to have been bored to death by him are freshman, namely in that they're all taking 100 level courses. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize these students minds have not full transitioned to the collegiate society.

Super, super nice old man. However, unclear, hard to follow, and a little disorganized. Lecture is everything so if you need handouts/discussions do not take his class! Write down everything he says, especially about the cases and get the coursepack.

I have mixed feelings about this class. I loved it because we were given all the exam questions and answer (along with the ability to have cheat sheets on exam day). But didn't like it because he tends to mumble, so I never understood what was being discussed. Overall I guess you could say it was an easy class to take.

Awful teacher, sweet man. Learned absolutly nothing in his class! He mummbles and gets off topic very easily yet gives you every single text question. Need to come to class to pass exams but dont bother with the books unless you're actually interested in the topic. Mine are still in the Neds bag!! Looking for an easy, boring class? Here you go!

Professor Pfister is a cute old man. His class was extremely easy. He gave us the test question and the correct answers. He also allowed us to use two sheets of paper to write whatever we wanted for the test. He can be boring, but American Govt. is not the most fun subject. If you go to class & get the test questions that he gives, you'll get an A

Wonderful man, terrible teacher. Don't take him unless you absolutely have to. It's hard to stay awake in class and his lectures are usually all over the place. BUT, he knows his business and is very smart. So, you might learn a thing or two... but try to avoid taking him if you can.

Sweet old man, but he is hard to follow. I notice everyone says to take good notes, but how can you take good notes when you can't even follow what he is saying? Writing random letters and words on the board is his idea of notes..and they make no sense. Wish I hadnt taken the class, but I also have no interest in PLSC which made it worse. Nice guy

1. I wish he was my grandpa - cutest old man alive. 2. THIS CLASS IS SOO BORING. 3. Don't buy the books you dont need them. 4. Gives you 90% of the test questions and allows you to have 2 cheat sheets, front and back (duh, write the Q's and A's) 5. Bring something to do during class. 6. Can barely hear anything he says

Professor Pfister is a really nice guy. You can tell that he truly wants his students to succeed and loves the subject he teaches. However, he is a little hard to hear sometimes and class can be pretty dull. Basically, if you show up and take good notes you will do well.

Really boring, really hard to follow. He seemed pretty confused. Makes you read a whole book for one or two questions on the test. Worst teacher I've ever had here at eastern.

Not to sure why Pfister gets bashed on here so much...If you go to class pay attention take good notes and read the case law you will get an A on the exams no problem. He is 5-10min late everyday though, and seems to have a huge problem with dry erase markers.

I am a good student and i had a hard time staying awake during class. People would just get up and leave during the middle of class, and the rest of us were just trying to fight off sleep. He is a very nice and helpful teacher. He was just very hard to hear/understand when he spoke. It made the class very boring. As of now we can use notes on tests

Yes he is really borring, I had to sit in the 1st row to make myslef not fall asleep. Do the reading, take good notes and you'll be fine for the test. The tests are open note, so for you to have good notes you have to go to class. If you can deal with monotone you'll be alright. GOOD NOTES ARE KEY!! Did I say take good notes?

I had trouble staying awake during the tests because he was so boring i considered smoking crack prior to class to stay awake. if the whole class is failing he'll just give credit to the class to make the average 75%.all in all he's a boring teacher that needs a new pair of pants! i rather wrestle alligators than to take his class over again!
