Has shown a lack of effort when teaching and can be very harsh when it comes to grading. Also, her responses are always vague and offer little help.

Some people arent meant to teach and she is definitely one of them. She has you do repetitive cases and constantly has mistakes in the due dates and leaves out material needed to complete the case until you let her know. Even if things are her fault, dont expect any due date extension. UTSA needs more professors to teach FIN4893. BEWARE OF BURNS!

Professor Burns is NOT a good teacher. The layout of the cases and the lectures doesn't make sense at all. I had to teach myself basically everything. She acts like she is so smart but can't answer your questions half the time and when she asks you a question and you can't answer it, she acts like you're the dumbest person shes ever met.

UTSA should have a second option to take your capstone. I understand that each professor is different, and she is very knowledgeable. Not all professors are good at teaching, some at better in a company where they can do what they know. Professor Burns is not really clear, the audio in her videos are unclear. many times her files are missing.

worst corporate finance instructor you could take at utsa, please take anybody else, she is from the SEC and talks like its some kind of accomplishment and not a gov job. students usually have to give her the correct answer because she doesnt know how. something wrong with this person very condescending.

her capstone was horrible, cases in finance is already such a useless course but she makes it 10x worse. her grading is very unclear and biased, expect to do many redundant projects for no reason, she will be incredibly condescending for what a fkin moron she is, most of the time the class has to give her the correct answer, never at her office hou

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! professor burns can't teach basic finance. you'll never learn anything that'll be on the exam. Her exams are made up last minute so there is honestly no such thing as exam prep in this class. Don't be afraid to talk about your grades, she messes up with that a lot too. GOOD LUCK to anyone who is about to take this class.

Dr. Burns is very knowledgeable but shouldn't be a professor. Her lectures are confusing, and she doesn't explain very well. Other professors had to step in. If you can take another professor, do it.

While Dr. Burns seems like she could be a good person, the way she speaks to students wouldn't be indicative of that. It seems as if she doesn't understand basic financial theory when she questions blatantly obvious statements. 20% of the grade is talking in class which sounds good but she gives an average of 10 to her students. Very unclear grades

Don't listen to all the lies you hear about this professor. She is really cool as long as you participate and come to class you'll be fine. Show interest in the class and don't be on your phone and know the topic that you're talking about and you'll be fine. Do you work and turn in your papers in on time and you'll be fine.

Very hard professor. Just talks during the whole lecture and goes off on tangents. Exams are very difficult, study textbook, her review and notes and still you will miss something. Not easy to approach without getting ridiculed. Interrupts during group project, news articles and occasionally lets class out early. If you can, pick someone else.

5 exams, 3 projects (require presentation), she interrupts and asks questions during. She is young, I don't know why she is condescending to students. She made my friend cry, she glares at students.. She speaks poorly of other professors that we admire! I wish she would be someone to admire. Avoid her!

This class is HARD!!! Everyone must read an article from the Harvard News Paper and you must present in class about the article you read. Then she grills you and makes you feel stupid and she does this to every student including her straight A's students. You can go to her office for help but she will just be little you and won't help at all.

She is a little fast sometimes, but I think she covers the course material very well, and the best thing about her is: STUDENT FRIENDLY! Does her best to help student get good grades with extra points and graciously grading! You will learn a lot of stuff if you dont lose track of course material.

Overall it was a terrible class. She is a very poor teacher. She raced through all the material, presented it poorly, and gave terrible exam prep. This is easily the worst class I have ever taken. Avoid her courses at all cost.

She is disorganized. She is not confident in her material ( half the time she does that math wrong) she does a poor job of explaining material to students but then gives you an attitude if you don't understand something from last class. Her tests are not too difficult if you study the book and do practice problems. I feel behind now because of her

She is not a bad professor though her teaching method needs work. The class requirements were not overwhelming but the most of the content was difficult to grasp. The 1st 5 chapters were the hardest but the material is overlapping by the time you finish the class you will have learned a great deal more than you thought. Test reviews are nothing lik
