No extra credit. Very unclear about everything. Thinks that he gives you everything you need when really the exam looks like something you have never seen, every time. Good luck with homework, it is practically impossible. Tests are 30-40 questions and your lucky if you even get three right. Because everyone will fail he uses T-Score grading.

I took PHY 2048 with him online and it was terrible. There was no real lecture for his online class during Spring 2021. Luckily, PHY 2049 was in-person, and I feel like I'm not as bad at Physics as I thought. He's very funny in class, and he lets us ask a lot questions during his in-person sessions as well. Overall, I think he's a great professor.

Here's the problem. He is naively bad at teaching. Practice tests (he doesn't do) are important and they bring up scores across the board. He has tests that are closely related to his notes which is great. His homework, however, should give far more chances. He uses what's obviously a 'test your knowledge' program as a 'learn problem solving here.'

Dont take him online! Much better in person. Tests are from homework and lecture problems. Goes kinda fast but gets the job done. Funny guy!

Love Dr. Criss! Took him online during covid and in person. So much better in person. Really funny and likes to have fun. Study his notes from the lectures and youll do fine. He makes it easy to learn physics and is almost always available outside of class. One of my favorite profs at USF- looking forward to the next class with him!

He insulted us through his announcements, was really petty with how he responded to emails and inquiries, did not accept any criticism, literally told us we were going to not complete his tests and that we probably could not solve everything. Really frustrating and the exams were so heavy. I would rather repeat orgo I than this class again.

Do not take this professor if you want an A!! Rude to students in office hours when asked to explain questions. He thinks that his teaching style is the best and that extra credit is wrong. He complicates physics and does not provide any practice exams or reviews for the exams. His exams are not like the lectures or the homework (75% of grade)!!

His lecture videos are 2-3 minutes long. Teaching style: learn it by yourself from mastering homework. Grade received is based on how well you do on the exams (Exam 1, Midterm, and Final Exam). His exams are not like the lecture videos or homework practiced. The exam average of the class is a C (with the curve)!!!

Well organized course. The learning communities were helpful. Lectures were rarely useful. I couldn't listen to the lecture video and gain enough insight to do the homework. Of course, you need to read the textbook, but I taught everything myself. Even then, studying well and really understanding is insufficient for exams (raw score always

This class was awful in every way possible. Very little instruction is given by the professor. Few 3 minute lecture videos are provided weekly. The bulk of the work comes from Mastering Physics which is a disaster. 75% of grade is derived from Exams while the other 25% is HW and discussion with classmates. Be prepared to teach yourself everything.

Maybe it was because of the change in circumstances or because he had a problem with technology. Whatever the problem or challenges he may have faced I did my best to stay motivated through the 5-minute lectures he provided weekly. He gave up the most difficult questions he could think of, which kind of shows how smart he really is. USF Physics...

I took physics 1 fully online, and he relies heavily on mastering physics and external sources to teach the material. HIs lectures were short and confusing, and he didn't do much to help me understand the material. I'm sure he would be better in person, but for an online course, I ended up learning much of the material on my own.

Do you wanna have your life? Do you wanna learn physics? Do you care how your professor treats you? If you answered yes to these questions, DO NOT TAKE Dr. Criss. He teaches nothing and it is funny that he thinks he is doing his job really well. By the way, I took his class asynchronous class in Spring 2021.

Absolutely terrible! He puts the bare minimum effort into his online class. Expects 3 hours of "class time" but only provides around 30 minutes of content tops (most of which is not his). You will essentially be teaching yourself entirely, and this class WILL be the majority of your schoolwork. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!

Take Physics with anyone but Criss . This guy will ruin your life . He doesnt explain anything and expects you to do everything by yourself. The tests are way harder than expected. Lecture videos suck and dont help at all .

Spring 2021 online 100%. Other reviews said that he was a great professor, which I don't disagree with. However, most of the lectures posted aren't even from him. It's videos he found online that pertain to the lecture, take what you want from that. When there are lectures made by him, he doesn't explain. Its 2-6 min videos. Prob better in person:(

Terrible. He is one of those instructors that literally said, "I wish I had a professor like me when I was in school". You can do everything in your power and you will only understand "most" of the test (his words). Oh yeah and you will never have enough time to complete the tests (also his words). Exam 1, Midterm, Final, HW... only grades you get

If you're an auditory learner then this class is not for you. Dr. Criss doesn't actually teach this class. Everything you learn in this class is out a very poorly explained textbook.
