I love Prof. Zysmilich. Hes SO funny and his dog Lola is adorable!!! I suck at math and struggled with it on tests. I went to office hours every week and instead of telling me to improve my math skills hed show me how to solve or read the graphs. Which I really appreciated- given hes a chemistry professor not a math one. Taking him for orgo <3

CHEM1112 is hard, but he makes the class easy. The class is lecture heavy, but if you attend class regularly, you will never need to read the textbook. Lectures are organized and structured. He offers office hours very regularly, and is accessible outside of class.

Chem 2 is hard + so are the exams but Zysmilich is AMAZING, a super smart guy, definitely the best Chem 2 professor and explains the concepts super well. Lectures are rly well structured and he's super helpful during office hours + schedules extra before exams. If the class distribution for final grades is bad, he'll curve a little. TAKE HIM!!

It's a decent class to fulfill your science gen ed requirement. Lectures can get really dense and not accurately reflect the exams. Labs are pretty straight forward but can get a little hard sometimes since they are not parallel with what you are learning in the lecture itself. Overall, solid gen-ed if you have a natural interest in Chemistry,

Took him for CHEM 1112 and loved him! Decided to take him again for Orgo I. Orgo is a challenging and demanding course, but Professor Zysmilichs lectures are straightforward and aligned with the textbook. You'll definitely have to put in the work daily to see results.

Organic chemistry is no joke, and this class was the hardest I have had thus far. However, Professor Zysmilich is one of the best professors at GW. You will have to spend every night on chemistry in order to pass this class, but he doesn't have any surprises and he gives good lectures. Even though I hated this course, I loved Zysmilich.

DO NOT TAKE. I took this class to get the GPAC and the quizzes did not match the lectures. I was all lecture and super boring. If you missed lecture or your notes weren't perfect it was hard. His curve because of COVID was generous. Definitely not a super easy science

Honestly really good prof for CHEM 1112. Explained everything really well and wanted us to ask questions. If stay on top of ALEKS and spend time truly understanding everything you should have no problem. Exams were tough, but doable if you study enough. Liked him enough to take him again next semester for o-chem if that says anything.

Clicker in class extra-credit opportunities. MC tests are hard but showing up to lecture & doing well in lab can save you. Nearly failed both exams despite never missing lecture/reading, but ended with a B because I did well in lab and took advantage of every EC opportunity. Hard class but there are ways to do well. Prof is kind and interesting.

Professor Zysmilich has great lectures, they are very thorough and he pauses after each section to look around for questions, which is pretty rare. He only graded the chem 1003 class by a midterm, final, and the extra credit clicker, which even if you don't get it, do the in-class practice questions. Don't buy the textbook; you'll never use it.

You need some basic knowledge of chem when you take this course if you want to get an A. Prepare iclicker to gain an extra point by answering 24 questions correctly in 30 questions during lectures which will rise you grade 10 percent totally. Do the problem set of midterm and final because it is similar to the exam. think comprehensive exam if need

Most people say this class is easy because they have old tests but he has made major changes to the tests so it doesn't help. This class is pawned as an easy A but was a waste of my time as I had to withdraw because his tests don't reflect the material and I never was prepared (my average was a 50). The tests make up 80%, take another class please!

Professor provides really long lectures with certain information and when it comes to the test gives harder questions then practiced or talked about in class. Do not expect this class to be an easy A class for a gen ed requirement especially if you are not interested or good at chemistry. The tests are a lot harder for what they should be.

Martín is actually a really nice person and has helped me a lot to learn orgo. Chemistry, especially organic is really hard so you'll have to work really hard regardless of who you have. A lot of people think he's too hard, but I honestly learned a lot from him. He can seem a bit condescending sometimes, but I think it's just cultural differences.

prof. zysmilich really knows his chemistry. super smart guy. his lectures are really informative and he goes through every detail, but it's really hard to know what he will test on for exams, which are SUPER hard and had the lowest averages out of all the chem 2 profs. but you'll really know your stuff after the class if you study lots and pass!!

Took Professor Zysmilich for Chem 1003 & 1004 so thought he was good enough to take 2nd time. I liked both classes and would recommend him. This class is hard but he gives EC to help your grade. If you work hard you can get a good grade. If you slack off you won't do well. It's all up to you. Tests are multiple-choice and graded quickly.

Honestly Prof Zysmilich is a really great guy. The class is hard, but any organic chemistry class is hard. He is a great lecturer and will explain concepts if you ask him. He likes when you go to office hours, so introduce yourself to him. He grades pretty harshly, but gives partial credit as long as you make somewhat of sense.
