If you read his reviews, yes he cares and will do anything for students, but he is the most disorganized, technology illiterate, unclear, and hard to understand prof at GVSU. He created his own course/projects/objectives which don't align with the book. Many times left class exasperated about assignments/lectures. Don't need a book, as he wrote one

Very caring and good professor, don't bother buying the textbook, you won't need to use it. Gives plenty of extra credit opportunities so it shouldn't be difficult to finish with an A.

I have never met a professor that wants their students to succeed as much as Professor Kumar wants his students to. He has 24/7 availability and even gives the class his phone number. This class does require a lot of time to work on projects but I think all 366 classes do. He offers A TON of extra credit. I never once touched the book. Take Kumar!!

Do yourself a favor and do not take this class. Kumar is such a tough professor, if it is not his way you will lose points. There are many excel projects and he does not explain them well either. A lot of extra credit, but you cannot pass on that alone. There is not a book which is nice, but maybe one would help..

Kumar is awesome, make sure you do the homework and you're good. He even brought in his cat Gracie for the class to see. Cutest little guy around, I strongly recommend him especially if you like cats.

Can be a tough class but he is so knowledgable and very nice. Always willing to help and makes sure that he is available for students almost anytime if they have questions. Different teaching style but he truly cares if you learn the material and if you don't understand what he just explained he will re-explain or rephrase as long as you ask

Kumar is such a nice guy but not the best prof. He isn't good at explaining concepts. Come to class and he will show you exactly how to do the project formulas in Excel. Get on his good side and he will give you higher grades. Pizza party after midterms. One absence allowed before he starts deducting points.

You can skip the book if you show up for the lectures. Kumar is awesome, hes funny and he really cares and wants every student to do well. He offers TONS of extra credit so it should be impossible to not get an A.

Great professor. There is always extra credit on the projects. I believe the extra credit on the last project gives you 40% more. He goes over what he wants you to do in the projects the week before. For our last project, he actually did the project in class with us. Cheat sheet is used for most exams.

Attending class isn't needed to understand the content, but it is if you don't want him to fail you. Also, question his teaching style and he'll be sure to make things difficult for you. He's very knowledgeable, but his teaching style is not at all effective. If you get on his bad side then you might as well drop the class. Try another professor.

Probably wouldn't take a class with him again. Fair grader though. Just hate his teaching style. Can barely understand him. Tons of extra credit. His exams and quizzes are different and tricky. Very nice guy, just different kind of teaching

He means well and is obviously very knowledgeable in his field. Tends to ramble on when he's lost the class. If you're looking for a challenge, I would recommend Kumar.

Kumar's class is difficult. The exams are hard but he offers so much extra credit that it is almost impossible not to get an A if you do it. The material is often confusing but Kumar wants everyone to succeed and is always willing to help.

gives a bunch of Xc but he is the worst communicator i have ever had, his assignments often make no sense and the students ends up asking questions for most of the class and his answers STILL do not clarify what he wants. He will get in a zone and talk to the whiteboard while writing but stands in front of everything he writes so u cant read it

I am now in my 3rd or 4th week of this course and it is by far my least interesting and least engaging class. It is close to impossible to understand what he is talking about due to his accent and general lack of ability whenit comes to explaining concepts. Seems like a smart guy but not an effective teacher by any means.

I'm only 3 weeks into this class and it's by far my least favorite course this semester. The professor is one of the nicest people I have ever met but is ability to convey the information (literally any information about anything) is just not there. This makes learning rather difficult. I don't advise taking courses with him.

Hard course, but if you pay attention you will be fine. Class is intellectually challenging, but he offers office hours if you have trouble. Very nice guy, but don't miss class often because he gives bonus points if you participate, and the homework is impossible to do if you're not in class to get the formulas and spreadsheets the way he wants.

Nice guy. sometimes hard to follow with lectures, accent makes it hard. If there's on thing that's good is that you can use a full sheet of paper (front and back) as a cheat sheet, and that you can basically get an A on extra credit alone. DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK. IT'S USELESS.

Professor Kumar is very intelligent when it comes to Operations Management. DO NOT purchase the textbook! I did not use it once this entire semester. Also, he hands out a lot of extra credit throughout the semester. Granted, he hands out, I believe, 6-8 projects. 1 page cheat sheet is allowed on exams.
