Super difficult course. I took AP math in high school and ended the class with a 93%. This class is so hard we are at the end of the semester and i have a C. Dont expect anything from these profs. you have to do all the work. The lecs and tut are just additional stuff. THe CLASSES QUESTIONS DONT REFELCT THE EXAMS AT ALL!!! Work hard, good luck

Prof Shay is a nice guy for the most part. His class has mandatory participation, and if any mishaps happen or you're writing an examination and cant attend he will not accommodate for that. Math132 makes you study almost entirely alone. You have to learn the concept on ur own, the tut and lec are just enforcing what you read. Be ready to work;(

Absolute trash course; the course notes are pure garbage and don't teach you the true ways of proving mathematical statements. The examples don't reflect the problems and don't help with the assignments and tests. If you decide to enrol in this course, get a proper textbook.

Very dedicated and enthusiastic about teaching. His practice problems are at exactly the same level as his tests -- there are no curve balls really. If you have a solid foundation, first year calculus with him should be a breeze, as he manages his course (132 & 134) VERY well.

Shay's tests are on the difficult side and his grading is quite tough. However, he's a prof who is very willing to help students learn and improve their skills. Go to every lecture and pay attention, you will pass for sure.

Regarding to his teaching, he has clear proof and his teaching leads guys to follow up the proof. Regarding to the difficulty of the test, if you pay attention on the lecture and assignment, you have no problem to get over 80% Regarding to the marking scheme, he gives you some free mark like attendance Overall, he is a perfect prof.

Literally the best math professor ever. He made me turn from a person that absolutely despised math to a person that's planning on minoring in mathematics. He is always willing to help and his teaching technique works extremely well. By far the best math teacher that's ever taught me.

He is one of the best prof in UTM. His lectures are clear and his tests are really easy(especially final exam). If you practice problems in the textbook, you can get 90+ easily.

Shay was a great prof! Although I didn't do well in his course (YOU MUST PRACTICE TO SUCCEED!), his examples in class were EXACTLY like the questions on tests/problem sets, since he was the course coordinator. Overall funny guy, always tried to make sure we were comfortable before moving on to a new topic. As he says, "practice makes habit!"

Head prof of MAT134 as well as the best prof. Makes the course content easier to learn but if you do not practice, you will not pass. One of the hardest courses in first year. Must do homework every day to do really well on the midterm. This prof gives you the basics of what you need to learn but you need to apply it to very tough practice problems

Shay is the best Mat134 prof!! Hes very approachable. He tried to be funny in lecture haha. Yes tests were difficult but thats math. Do all the work, problem sets, practice tests and youll actually do well.

Shay is the best math professor for MAT134 tbh.(I went to every MAT134 professor's lecture lol) He explains concepts very well and relates everything (which is really important) The way he transitions from one topic to the next is just flawless. His tests are actually really easy if you're not careless! JUST STUDY

Shay seems like a very caring professor... Too bad his tests are insanely difficult. On top of that his marking scheme is unfair, you get zero marks short answer questions if you got the wrong answer (even if your steps were correct before the error). No part marks given. Way too difficult of a course for non-math students. TAKE IT IN THE SUMMER!

Nice and approachable. if you're lost with any part he'll help you and explain it at your level. Go to his lectures because it is easily structured and will make you understand the topic better, rather than reading the hard-to-read textbook

He is great in terms of explaining concepts, but the way his tests are formatted is not fair. For the first part of the test he only looks at your final answer and does not give any partial credit even if some of your steps used to reach your final answer were correct.

I would never suggest this prof to anyone with health issues. I had fibromyalgia migraines then. if i ever went for help he was rude. he would question me lying about my health even though i was with accessibility. he failed me, probed another prof to do the same. unforgettable and horrible experience overall.
