Comment:
Definitely takes a while to get used to how much he rambles; a lot of times when people would ask questions, he would get off track and get confused where he started. He is a caring professor, but it's SO hard to pay attention most of the time. Yes, it's only graded off of three fairly easy papers, but at times I'm not sure if it's worth it.

No need to buy the book if you attend class and just take notes on what classmates bring up. Can be very hard to follow what he says because he tends to ramble but the entire class grade is based on three papers that are fairly simple and as long as you put in effort you will get an A.

Rowes lectures are boring because he rambles but the entire class is graded on 3 papers that are pretty easy to do well on! Hes a good ethics professor!

Rowe is fine. He most definitely knows what he's talking about and makes it apparent that he is very passionate about what he teaches. However, it can sometimes be hard to follow with lectures because he tends to ramble. The class overall was easy, and if you're having trouble, don't be afraid to ask him for help.

Comment:
Prof. Rowe is able to bring many trains of thought together at once - something you wont see many professors attempt. Hes good at visually illustrating topics on the board. Hes honest about what he doesnt know, and genuinely curious about students thoughts/opinions. His lectures can ramble for sure. Speak up and youll be rewarded.

He's awesome and is willing to meet with you if you can't make office hours. Like other people said, he is EXCESSIVELY literate. I think I've broadened my vocabulary more in this semester than I did in the last two years. He tries so hard to get the class to participate but struggles. He can be unclear but he encourages you to ask questions.

He sometimes is excessively literate, meaning most of the time no one even can comprehend what he is saying. Although, he is a very good person and respectful of everyone's wishes.

Rowe is a great professor. I felt that he could have done better with encouraging participation. There were only 3 students that spoke up in the class I was in. He had us rearrange our desks in a circle which was a nice idea but most people just went on their laptops. The content can go over a lot of peoples heads, but he's a very developed human.

Very unclear and rambles on about nothing. Your grade for this class is based on three papers that are super easy to BS. If he didn't take attendance then I honestly could have passed without ever going. We needed one small book that we were supposed to read but I honestly maybe read one chapter of it. All classes went by slow and no one talked.

His classes only require you to write 3 papers all semester, there are 0 other assignments, so it's not time consuming at all. A great class to take to get a gen. ed. out of the way. However, lectures are hard to follow.

Had Prof. Rowe for Phil. of Rel. He was always respectful with different religious perspectives, and criticized in a manner that was never condescending. Lectures were normally interesting and challenging. He's influenced very heavily by eastern religious thinkers. That's all fine, but eastern philosophy only gets one so far. Fun class though.

This class surprisingly enlightening, considering I went into it somewhat cynically. As for Professor Rowe, he's bit a eccentric but undoubtedly knowledgeable and passionate about education. I would recommend those taking his courses engage him one-on-one in order to make assignments clearer (he can be a bit vague) and speak up during lectures.

Professor Rowe's philosophy class broadened my thinking and opened my eyes to many things relavent to my life. Rowe is extremely knowledgable and is willing to help students succeed if you reach out to him. Success in the course requires reading and writing. If you want to expand your thinking, this class is for you.

This is the worst professor I've ever had. He rambles nonstop, directions are never clear, and his vocabulary is too high for an undergraduate student to follow. Although philosophy is not meant to be easy, he is not helpful in the least in decipher it.

Excellent class - not your run-of-the-mill fake scenerio type of dialogue class, but understand the depth, breadth, width of dialogue. He is brilliant with his terms, and tying in the reading -- warning: if you don't read, you will not do well in any of this professor's classes! Read, write, and you'll do fine.

Prof Rowe obviously really cares about helping students think about the world critically. He can be difficult to follow, but he is engaging and challenging. He is exceptionally knowledgeable about his subjects and helps students to engage in a thoughtful way. I have taken 3 courses from him and he is actively involved helping me succeed.

It's almost as if you can see the wealth of knowledge seeping out of his already ridiculously packed cranium...but I did like him very much. He is very willing to work with you and answer any questions you may have. Can be difficult for someone that does not possess a philosophical mindset...such as myself, but passable..
