He is so experiences in his field. Although he did not require tests, quizzes or a bunch of homework, I learned most from his class out of all my other classes. Super nice!!

Nice guy but lectures loooong. Does not use blackboard period - every assignment is a handout. Also some of the assignments just seemed like busywork.

Alex Nesterenko gives you all you need to understand Communication Theory. He is approachable, friendly and helps you to comprehend the subject so you can succeed. He understand that you might be starting up in the material at a novice level and will get you where you need to be. In my opinion, the best professor in the entire department.

Comment:
Nesterenko's COM 495 class is devastatingly boring, but if you are looking for a class where you can take a break, I recommend this course. Though he disallows use of technology during lecture. The quizzes and tests are harder than average, but not impossible. There are three projects that time consuming, but not hard to do. Overall, pretty easy.

Alex legitimately cares about your post-college career, and this much is evident in the only 2 assignments he hands out. He makes you realize what's out there and how you should tackle the real world. I highly recommend taking this class with him if you are able.

Uses class time to go way off topip. Covers very little in the 2 hours that you meet with him,but he takes attendance so you have to sit there for it. Takes a lot of time to explain things and then time runs out and you're forced to teach yourself. Taking him this summer and he tests over everything but teaches very little. Not impressed.

This guy was my professor back in the mid-80's. I'm surprised to see he's still teaching. I truly enjoyed his classes. Plus, he could put the brewski's away in his day. Overall, great guy.

Alex's lectures tend to drag on but I think he's aware of this, and therefore hardly ever makes you stay the full time. Anyway, the man couldn't be more nice and gives you plenty of chances to do well in this class. You do one group presentation and a few small papers. The tests were hard at first but towards the end they were good.

Alex is a good guy, a helpful professor, and seems to understand that no one really wants to take Capstone (which is very true.) 3-hour class, good time to do vast amounts of other homework, if you're the non-studious type.
