His Final was overrated. I received a B+ and I never read his articles. I would simply memorize who the authors were and what they did. By doing just that I got a B+. I never did use the book either but I've watched a lot of History channel so I don't recommend you do the same.

i thought this class was going to be the easiest for the humanities requirement and it ended up being my worst class in the spring semester. the reading is ridiculous. you have to read over 4 documents a day. he is very nice and a good teacher, but the class was incredibly hard if you are not fluent in the history subject.

Knows what he's talking about. Very passionate. 2 easy essays and easy midterm and final. Recommend you read everything when it's due- if not, you'll have a hard time with the tests. uses iClicker.

Sure Prof. Lichtenstein knows all his stuff and is nice. Two papers, two exams, & iclicker quizzes. However, the amount of reading is ridiculous, & the final is cumulative which means re-reading 75 documents out of the 100s assigned. If it's your only class, sure, if not, then I recommend not to take it with him.

The first couple of weeks of class, I thought he would teach the class with a bias. But, as time wore on, I realized that he was merely showing a point of view rarely discussed. I wish I could take another class with him, but my schedule always conflicts with it.

Great professor! The class is easy if you attend the lecture and the section. The papers are easy just do some research online and take what he says from class for an A. Buy an iclicker and pick Melissa Armitage for section. She is firm but if you participate she will treat you like a King!

RELATIVE to the material, he is very interesting (by relative i mean...history can only be so entertaining). He REQUIRES iclicker in most sections and swears by it (iclicker did not record 1 of my attendance grades 1 day and I had no proof so i had to take a 0 for that day.)...Grade in class will depend more on which TA you get, luck of the draw.

Good teacher that really knows what he is talking about. Goes by the syllabus and uses a smaller packet in place of a huge textbook. He is helpful, but sometimes he can be a bit boring. There are two written papers, a midterm and a final. There are also some online quizzes. Attendance was mandatory.

His knowledge of and interest in the subject comes thru in his lectures. Web links and a small packet of historical documents replace a textbook. Main grades are 2 papers based on the readings and a midterm and final that are both in short answer and essay format but are EZ if you've done the reading. Makes himself available to students.

I just read the books I had to write essays on. There were no other grades except for a few online quizzes. The final wasn't bad; it is a variety of identifying key terms, graphs, writing a paragraph using certain words, etc. Admittedly liberal, so he thinks FDR was trying to help out with the New Deal. Believes FDR was ignorant on Pearl Harbor.

Good teacher, can be boring sometimes. Sticks to his syllabus and is provides lots of stimulation other than just lectures. Uses videos and sounds clips. Very knowledgeable guy and always tied the lesson to relevant issues of today.
