If you struggle with programming courses, this one probably will be a bit challenging too. I would say take Professor Sam but make sure to read the chapters and watch his videos. Stackoverflow, google, and the textbook examples will help you in your homework. Some of the assignments are more challenging than others.

Hey guys if you want to learn CIS 2485 then SAM is the MAN! Super relaxed environment in class, however the homework sometimes got difficult but if that is the case the professor was always available for help and would give you a generous grade if you attempted the homework. One thing I'd like to add is: ALWAYS PUT IN YOUR DOCUMENTATION on your hw!

Very nice prof. He is big on working together and if you can't figure something out you look it up. Class consisted of lectures, labs, and lab quiz. Lots of reading outside of class and quizzes for reading. If you ask questions he does his best to explain. I would take him again.

Sam is definitely a great teacher which I have ever had. He knows his subject well also, he has more than 20 years of experience of the field. He teaches you C++ programing for this class and also allows you to do labs in a group which is extreamly helpful. If you are majoring in CS, then he is the best teacher. Also, it's an easy A class.

While he gave me an 89.3, I learned quite a bit. Sam's a great guy and gives you better grades than you deserve most times, and is very helpful/lenient. But you gotta put the effort in. But he's super nice&helpful. Take him, and enjoy him. Oh and most of the labs are put up :30 minutes into the class. 10 hw assignments, 14 or so labs, 2 test 1final
