This was a French 1 class and I have to say it was more difficult than expected. She was super behind on the material and her lectures were confusing and difficult. Tests were similar to study guides which helped but the study guide was nothing like the lectures so you have to learn a lot on your own.

Dr. Bell is so caring for her students! She is flexible with deadlines and would rather have a late assignment than to stress you out over it. She is very knowledgeable about French and easy to talk to about language-related fields. However, she is a slow grader and has trouble with tech. No grades were posted and the calendar changes constantly

Dr. Bell is an excellent prof for higher level French courses. She is very fair & will always give points back on tests/quizzes if you explain your answer. It is clear that she is more concerned with students learning the material rather than an actual grade. That being said, she is EXTREMELY slow on putting in grades. Overall great prof & person!

Grades are never posted. I understand having multiple classes but the class only got their grades one time before finals. You would get a study guide before the exam but it was nothing like the actual test. Although this is elementary French she expects you to know everything like you were born there. Do not take her if you dont have to.

Dr. Bell was consistently late for class, unenthusiastic/boring, and she only read from the book. At the end of the semester, she failed to put the whole class's final grades in until many days after their due date. She's a slow grader and her grading is hard. She refuses to explain confusing concepts in English which makes the class even harder.

Reads straight from the textbook. Speaks only in French the whole time and this is an intro level course. Participating is part of the class and graded. Would not recommend. Made the class harder than it needed to be.

Very nice prof. She makes it crystal clear what is required to get an A in her class and really works hard to accommodate each student and work with them. Class isn't too strenuous and the homework is easy.

Dr. Bell is super nice but her class is VERY boring. Only talks in French and in the beginner French class i dont think that is appropriate. I find myself checking the time a million times. She is very kind though and cares about students but very monotone and just reads out of the book the whole time.

She is truly one of the most kindest professors out there. After her class, I declared a minor in French. She really enabled me to want to learn more and be a better student. Wish there were more professors like her out there.

This professor obviously cares very much about what she does. She teaches using only French, which is a challenge but helps one learn better. She knows French very, very well and she is excited to teach. My class was very unenthusiastic, but she showed up happily each day. She will also move tests and quizzes if the class is not ready for them.

Dr Bell was my French professor, and I had her for two classes. She was a very knowledgeable, kind, and a very excellent professor. She is one of those professors that will walk the extra mile for you, always trying to help in any way and will go to the ends of the earth to assist you. She impacted my life and I am pursuing my PhD now.

Dr. Bell is a little strange, but I can tell you one thing, she is one of the sweetest and most understanding professors I've had. She will move tests if you aren't prepared enough, and she will answer any question. She is slightly disorganized and sometimes late to class (five minutes tops), but she is intelligent and helpful. The tests are easy.

She is a very nice professor and will go over everything again if no one understands. I agree with the prior comment. She was always lat, disorganized and did put off the exams. We were a full week behind (from the syllabus) in the class at the end of the semester. She does try to work with everyone and their schedules, this is good for some st

Comment:
She is almost always late and is very disorganized. Pushes tests back a lot, which makes it annoying for SAS students. A little odd personality-wise. I took French 1 with a GRADUATE student and she did a much better job. Several other students in my class with Dr. Bell were also in the class with the grad student and they agree with me.
