Comment:
I took the accelerated pre-calc for the first quarter of INS and Rachel proved to be...okay. Her lectures were often more confusing than they needed to be when covering simple topics. She was willing to work through any problems students had though. She assigned just the right amount of homework, which is a rarity in math classes.

I would say that Rachel is an average linguistics teacher. The material isn't always presented clearly, but she will try to explain anything you ask for you.

Comment:
Rachel is an amazing teacher. She makes extremely complex and abstract subject *make sense*. I hate that being "easy" is a good thing on this site. If you want an "easy" teacher, then why are you in college? Rachel expects a lot out of her students, but she gives them everything they need to succeed. If you're actually serious, then she's the best!

She's competent and approachable, but didn't really seem to have very much chance to shine in this class. She's very good if you are interested in linguistics, and she also specializes in math.
