Avoid this class! Missy is completely unprofessional, she is condescending, and she expects you to do the assignments precisely when she doesn't even take the time to properly prepare them. This class is a nightmare and not worth the stress.

Seriously avoid at all costs. Find a different class or better Professor. Mean, insane amount of homework, AWFUL grading system, one quiz was literally more than 30 pages (12 font) when I turned it in. Pretty sure nobody has an A even though she claimed it was easy. Find someone knowledgeable and nice.

Unreasonably difficult. Interesting class material, carried out horribly. AWFUL grading policy, 20 page essay quizzes. Is consistently rude and condescending to students. Teaches incorrect heavily biased information that is just blatantly untrue. Racist. This class would better be called American Cold War propaganda. Take ANY other class / prof

Well, I would avoid this class at all costs if you are a full time student. The assignments are extremely lengthy and the questions are so unclear, you dont even know what your answering. Hour and hours research and watching videos just to answer the questions. Her grading is so tough and you wont know your grade the whole time.

You are writing intense papers to unclear questions, that she expects exact answers to. She takes her time getting back to you. You can only use sources from the current year yet she uses old sources. Extra credit is not what you think it is, it is still required, and she will change her mind about giving it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

You are writing 2000 word essays every week to vague questions that expect specific answers. She does not respect students' work/life balance. The midterm/final was 6 pages of essay questions 22 after filling it out in 24hr. You never know your grade she doesn't use canvas right. BONUS DOESNT MEAN EXTRA CREDIT! It just means extra expected work.

Every single week I'm writing 1000 word plus papers after watching multiple hours worth of videos and reading loads of articles, just for her to tell me that my answers aren't long enough and giving me a bad grade for it. This class wasn't even relevant to my major and I was doing so much work. WE GO TO WORK AND HAVE OTHER CLASSES FOR GOD SAKES

99% of the semester is based on participation and watching at least 1-3 hours of videos every night. The midterm (worth well over half your grade) had a 55% average grade and everyone in the class is pissed... it was a 10 page paper with a 16 page instruction sheet. I personally put in 20 hours and got a 54%. AVOID at all COSTS.

This is the worst class I have ever taken. All the previous comments are true. She is rude, skeptical, participation heavy, and ridiculous. I took this class in the spring and it was a waste of my time. No one's opinion matters except for hers. Also the only grades in the grade book are participation and its April! I still don't know where I stand.

She talks a lot while expecting the class to participate. She requires you to respond to 10 students on the discussions which is a lot. She takes forever to grade assignments. Like assignments in the beginning of the semester isn't graded till the end. The exams are super long and a little confusing. There is a lot of work in this class

This is the worst class I have ever taken. I graduated this semester, but I still have no idea what my grade is for this class. She is not clear in what she expects for her assignments, not to mention they take hours to complete. Her exams are unnecessarily long and require extensive research. She was over 30 min late to class on multiple days!

I took this class in winter 2019 and i have to say it was one of the worst classes i have ever taken. Im a senior now and i know how to pass a class, but missy's class is unpredictable. I say this because she did not grade a single assignment until the end of the semester. By the way there are weekly assignment that require you to watch hoursofvide

This by far was the worst class and teacher Ive had since being at CU. Took online knew it was a disaster from the start when she was late publishing the class by almost a week. Unclear syllabus, grading structure was messed up week 1 and still hasnt been fixed. Assignments, discussions, and papers super heavy most of which werent graded til now

Absolute disaster of a "teacher". Might as well change the name of the course from Global Perspectives to Merrily's Perspective. She loves to harp on having 2018 and later sources to backup your claims, while she has no evidence to back up any of her own. Don't expect to get any feedback on anything you have done until the last week of class too :)

Everything you read about her is true. I received an A in her class, and cannot recommend her. She is highly disorganized. The class is set up so students are in direct competition with each other for grades. Worse, though, is her lack of any clear criteria even using her competitive system.

Hands down the worst, most unclear grading criteria I've ever experienced in any class. You are told multiple times that there is no limit to the amount of points you can earn in the semester, but you are graded relative to your peers. Missy rarely updates grades and you're left not knowing where you stand for the whole course. Avoid if possible.

A positive person. Usually late to class. A prof that flummoxes conscientious students with her lack of conscientiousness. Zero project feedback. 100% subjective grading. Makes up all assignments on the fly. Her desires for certain large assignments changed every. single. class.- because she was disorganized. She is my least fave part of UCD.

I think she means well. Positive attitude, and knows her stuff. However, there is no clear grading material, and halfway through the semester, I still didn't know my grade. The class was taught as open discussion, which ultimately took away from the class(no accountability, few people dominate conversations).Overall, poorly structured class.

Absolutely, terrible. I've taken multiple MBA classes and this is by far the worst. So bad I've considered asking the university for a refund. Disorganized, no syllabus, and has an affinity for deciding last minute to require weekend meetings. Nothing is accomplished during class and only a few people pull their weight and do the work.
