Not only a bad professor, but also a very rude and uncaring person. He is on a mission to fail his class at all times, and changed his syllabus not once, but twice towards the end of the semester to hurt his class. Do not take this man if you want to keep your sanity. Rude and unprofessional.

Not the worst professor I have had but it is very frustrating that he never answers emails and is rarely in his office.

This man is impossible to get up with and is honestly one of the rudest professors I have met on this campus. He brags about his low pass rate and has no respect for his students. He already plans on making the class harder because too many of us passed this semester. If you have to take him during Covid good luck I'll be thinking of you.

Rogers doesn't care about his students at all. He brags that his class average is below 50% and since everything was online due to covid-19 he threw a hissy fit that it was higher this year. He has made the class much harder because of this and has threatened to make his classes harder in the future. He's also impossible to get in touch with.

Rogers literally only cares about his class average being low. His tests are long and difficult and he pretty much sets you up to fail. He does give extra credit but to get it you have to do a ton of homework. He's also never in his office and he never answers emails so if you need help with something, good luck getting in contact with him.

Dr. Rogers is a wonderful man! He has a tough class, but he WANTS you to learn the material. He is very helpful outside of class, and his office hours sessions are beyond helpful. He will put in as much effort as he possibly can to help you succeed. Orgo is tough, but I really appreciated and valued him and his class.

One thing about Dr. Rogers- he TRULY cares about the student. This class is hard- it is organic! At the same time, make an effort to go his office hours and ask questions of those who are making good grades in his class. He makes sure that you are able to grasp the knowledge before you leave his office and he is very humorous!

Just befriend honor students. They pull out Rogers old exams from God knows where and receive As in the class. Rogers will then favor you and make grading less difficult on your part. If I could go back, id take Reichert since he offers multiple choice exams. Rogers has all free response questions.

While Dr. Rogers is a fantastic human being, his class is difficult. His first 2 tests arent bad, but the last 2 are impossible. His avg grade is a 30-40 on each test. He lets u retake to average up to a 70. 20% of your grade is an ACS final that isnt made for ch201 students. Its made for biochem and organic 2 students. National avg of ACS is a 50

I can't imagine taking this course with any other professor. He WANTS you to love the material as much as he does, and consequently WANTS to see you succeed. The homework is hard and so are his tests - the best advice for this class is to make friends with the people who are making 112's on the tests, and go to his office hours.

ALL HAIL DR. ROGERS. For real though - I love this man. Study like a mad man and ask questions and you'll make an A. Maybe bring up the fact that styrofoam is a trademark of the Dow Chemical company and he'll become partial toward you.

Organic chemistry isn't an easy subject, but Dr. Rogers makes it easier to understand. He cares more that we learn the material than that we make a good grade, and he is very accessible outside of class.

Dr. Rogers is a very nice man. Organic chemistry is always going to be a headache and his class was no exception. He allows you to retake 3 tests to make up to a 70, one VERY difficult take home test and the ACS final. Homework is bonus on tests only. His lectures are the best in the department but if I could go back, I would take Dr. Forbes.

Rogers is a good teacher but his tests are very hard. If you do the hw assigned you can get extra credit on tests. He is helpful if you attend office hours, but he is only on campus tuesdays and thursdays (usually). You can read the text and study his notes but he will probably change the reactions in a way that confuses you.

Dr Rogers is definitely the best choice for organic chemistry. I was very nervous going into it but now that I am in the middle of it I am so glad I chose him. His explanations are insanely clarifying and he will always help if you go to office hours. If you put in the work you WILL learn organic chem through and through.

Do all the homework because they're extra credit and trust me, YOU WILL NEED IT. I worked my butt off in this class but it payed off because I made an A in the end. Go to his office hours. Ask him how to make an A and he'll tell you what you need to study! He really cares and wants you to succeed, but this is Organic. You've gotta put in the work.

Organic is hard, it's going to be hard no matter who you take but Dr. Rogers is the most caring professor out there. If you go into his office hours, he will do everything he can to help you. Tests are hard, but he adds points from Sapling to your grade and if you make lower than a 70 he will let you retake it and average the scores together.

He encourages his students to come and talk with him, which I would recommend. He may be a difficult teacher, though in the long run it will be helpful, especially if continuing on to Organic 2. All homework is used as bonus points on the tests. You will have to work hard if you want to pass.

Best professor I've ever had! If you actually want to learn the material, take him. Sure it's hard, but so is every organic class. He is so willing to help and so nice! He sometimes offers review sessions before each test where you can ask questions. There are no pop quizzes and sapling is all extra credit.
