Comment:
Took pre-covid and when David was still a prof. Mark stayed on topic mostly because of David. There are very few informative slides so take Notes. Actively participate and ask questions. If he sees active engagement he will try to help as much as possible but you'll have to be specific when asking questions. Tests are very hard so make sure to read

Lord is cool, I guess. His lectures are really good, but the grading criteria isn't really specified and he tends to grade pretty hard. I think he kinda warmed up as the semester went on though. Once classes switched online he became very caring and understanding. He really does want you to learn, he's just pretty average overall.

A good professor, lots of notes! really knows his stuff and is very helpful outside of class. You will do a lot of group projects and learn how the area of study effects real world scenarios.

Unorganized, seems to angers easily, and grades harshly. His lecturing isn't easy to follow. He unfortunately rabbit trails. Doesn't explain content clearly. He is willing to help outside of class.

Comment:
This class has been the worst class I have ever taken at WCU. He never gave clear instructions, and he struggled keeping the class engaged. No one respected him, and his tests were ridiculous. I learned nothing in GEOL 140.

Barely teaches test info in class, requires you to learn the course yourself through the textbook. No matter how good you do he will give you B's at best, can never get a good grade in anything no matter who you are. Won't even give you full credit for most test questions. Would not recommend unless absolutely necessary.

Extremely lazy and sorry. THE worst professor I have ever had. Lord would be better off teaching a 6th grade science class. Very soft guy, no backbone whatsoever. Instruction in the course if very broad with little detail. Meeting with him in his office is pointless. Though he is there to help when needed. Shocked he still teaches at WCU.

Comment:
The worst professors I have ever had at Western. Very lecture heavy and very soft spoken. Seems very timid in the classroom. Test are very difficult and takes a long time to grade, though they are all online. Extremely inconsistent in responding to emails as well. Very tough when it comes to grading. This isn't the class to take if looking 4 easy A

Lectures are boring and very wordy. Really difficult beginners class especially if uninterested in the subject material. Would not take class with Lord again.

This class is a complete waste of time if you want to learn Geomorphology (the title). However, if you want to learn how to do a research project, which is arbitrarily graded, then this is the class for you. I put in 40+ hours of work on this '10%' project only to have received a B- on A+ work. This was a complete waste of time and useless class

Toughest part of class was that it was 8:00 AM class. He gave you plenty of help if you needed it because of sleeping through too many classes or such and was always very clear when he explained something.

He never really explains things and he expects you to know everything there is to know about the Earth. He is a Liberal guy who doesn't really let Conservative ideas free in class. He isn't even going to be there on the day of the exam. If you like learning in an evironment where you aren't happy
