Clear, caring, approachable, and an overall incredible prof! He delivered the course flawlessly online during a pandemic and somehow made the research report process fun. He is a fair grader and extremely helpful throughout the entire term. A real gem!

He is good at lecturing, really enthusiastic and explanations are usually clear. My issue was going to his office hours as he was condescending. I asked him a question and he assumed I did poorly in the class before this one. If you want to maintain a good image of him dont go to his office hours. Ask the TA instead, that is where I went for help

Professor Hockley is such a nice and knowledgeable man. He cares about students and his lectures are very easy to follow. He posts practice midterms and his slides are a great benchmark when reading the textbook to study for tests which are relatively straightforward and contain mostly lecture content. The ZAPS assignments are also a free 20%.

GO TO CLASS!!! As long as you go to class and add to his power point slides you will do great! Also he gives practice tests before each midterm and final and they are very helpful, most of the questions are very similar. He is a very nice man and wonderful professor.

His Cognitive Seminar class was quite challenging. Many of the articles were confusing, but if you attended class you got some help. We were required to write a literature review that covered 26+ journal articles and it was worth 35%. You got an easy participation mark though (worth 20%). Fair marker and we had ample time to work on our assignments

Nice gentleman overall. Knows the material well and tells you what you expect from him. His work focuses primarily on memory. The papers are difficult but the skill comes with time and good feedback. Clear voice and is pretty engaging and funny. 6% of grade was attendance.. Make sure to be in class on lab results days to get the SPSS Output.

Overall generally a standard research course that isn't overly hard. He's great and funny in the classroom and a pretty encouraging person. Went to visit his office hours a couple of times and did feel he wasn't the same like how he was in the classroom, found him to be a bit condescending. Overall great class and fair marker.

I thought he personally was a great prof. He did great demonstration and involved the entire class. He also always had amusing jokes and stories. The class itself though was dry. He stuck pretty close to the text book and the exams were easy if you understood the concepts.

He does really fun demonstrations and is genuinely excited about the material he is teaching, which makes it more interesting for students. Make sure you print off his powerpoint slides before class and use them to take notes because the tests are heavily based on his lectures. The class is easy if you go to lectures and pay attention.

loves his slide presentations - moves through them pretty quick so if you don't have a copy in front of you, don't bother trying to take notes. exams are fair enough. going to class is a must because the lecture material shows up on the midterms and final.
