Overall Professor Shehata was an excellent teacher. I highly recommend taking her if you can get into her class. She is very good at explaining different topics and is helpful during office hours. ACCTUB-1 is a difficult course and you have to be very well prepared for the exams.

I would def recommend Prof Shehata's class. It was sometimes hard to pay attention to the lectures, but I was able to understand the material by reading the textbook. The textbook homeworks are easily to get full credit for. I did well on the exams by making detailed formula sheets, and the curve isn't as bad as other accounting profs.

Shehata is very nice and a good teacher. Lectures are sometimes boring, though, and can occasionally get disorganized. If you fall behind even a little, you'll have no idea what's going on when she's doing problems in class. Also, the curve is pretty brutal, and her questions are often worded awkwardly, so be careful. Still, very good professor.

This professor makes something as boring as accounting fun to listen to, her energy is great. I loved having her and would have her again! I don't understand the complaints about the curve, not much she can do about that. She's not making exams so easy that one mistake puts you to B+ tho. Don't need to read the textbook, but you should participate.

Professor Shehata really cares that you learn the material, but you pretty much need to prepare for class by reading the textbook material before showing up to the lecture. Her lectures are more like worksheets to test your knowledge than purely trying to teach the concepts. Overall a great professor, but the class is hard.

She's not a very good lecturer. I wouldn't recommend taking her class - she is an extremely harsh grader, and the curve is brutal.

Honestly, I have no clue why the ratings are so high. Maybe its because its online classes. The online version sucks. She goes too fast. Her slides are NEVER in the correct order and it takes a few min to find the slide shes talking about and then shes already moved on. Just circles everything on slides without info. I hate accounting.

Everyone at Stern loves Shehata, but I hated this class. There is a ton of content, and it's not really presented in a way I found easy to understand. Exams are very hard, and the curve in her class is insane. Impossible to get an A. This class made me truly hate accounting. As much as everyone recommends it, it's not for everyone.

An amazing professor. Makes accounting easy and interesting to learn. The only problem is everyone does so well (since she's such a good teacher) that it's a pretty steep curve to get an A. One of my favorite professors at Stern.

Great professor and human being. Handled the mid-semester shift to Zoom very well. You can clearly tell she cares a lot about her students and genuinely wants everyone to do well. Pay attention in class, do all the homework honestly, and you won't have to study much to do well on tests.

Professor Shehata is the only accounting professor you should take. She turns the boring subject of accounting into a somewhat interesting topic and that by itself is extremely impressive. Also, if you have half a brain you will do well in this course

TAKE HER!!! Cannot stress this enough. This woman changed my life! She brings so much excitement to her classroom - I've never had a dull day in FA (shocking, but true)! Her grading is fair and always sees when students are trying their hardest. Go to her office hours and get to know her too. She cares so much about her students. YOU'LL LOVE HER!!!

She is awesome!!! There is a reason why she is one of the top 50 professors in the country. Her lectures are spectacular and she makes FA interesting. She actually inspired me to change my major. She is so accessible outside of class and is willing to help you.
