He is a very calm prof who uses easy and interesting examples to explain hard concepts in class but he just needs to learn to speak better in class for better communication, he is a good and knowledgeable professor.

I won't say he is bad, but he isn't organized at all. Sometimes you'll feel vagueness of what he is doing. He is a tough grader. He asks for more while not giving that much. Bad experience for me.

Very nice guy, and easy to follow. Lectures can be fun if you're into the content. He can offer some funny ways of thinking about the more abstract ideas. Do the labs and you'll succeed

Comment:
Great lectures on TCP/IP, the most useful part of the course. He also showed the current best practice of the topic in industry, not just the theory developed 30 years ago. (The original TCP is old.) A lot of things have changed, but the textbook hasn't. Helpful for other courses and interviews as well. Get ready to learn!

Comment:
Lectures would sometimes be disorganized as a result of jumping from slide to slide. The labs were not helpful in understanding the course material. There was also inconsistency in marking and aid from TAs. However, Professor Lung does care about students' success. Midterm was very specific and difficult, but the final allowed a cheat sheet.

Comment:
Poor communication to students despite various channels such as CULearn or the course mailing list, poor communication to his TAs (resulting in inconsistent marking), poorly designed labs, poorly written midterms with questions that are misleading at best, no office hours posted for himself or his TAs, makes no effort to help students pass.

His assignments are very interesting and useful in practice. I liked them a lot. He also tried to cover many aspects of OS and link them to real world applications. Another good part was that he often gave many hints or sample solutions.

His assignment instructions are very contradicting; understanding what he wants is more difficult than the actual assignments. He means well, but his communication skills are bottom of the barrel.

Assignments were easy and marked easy as well. The class was pretty boring, half the class was asleep during the lectures. Final exam was hard as hell though.

He gave you a lot of materials, but was a easy marker. Assignments were great. 3001 was the first course that gave students challenging programs. Learned a lot from them. 4602, gave you a lot of materials for reference, but did not test all of them, which was great.

don't why people think hes good they is barely able to read his own notes. He has never added extra clerification to his slides(not even one word). Can does not ever answer a question properly. He speaks like he just got let out of a reject institude!... but seems to be a easy marker
