She doesn't respond to emails since she doesn't have internet at her home and only answers emails when she's at school. She didn't assign homework in class what she did was email the assignment on a Saturday night when I'm ready to go out with friends. On top of that the assignment was due that following Monday too. HMWK very long and didn't doit

She gives so much homework and ontop of that we have to do 1,000 to 2,500 words in an essay and some of the homework questions wr have to do an additional 300 to 500 words and at times she can be rude. She only gives us a bit of time do do her homework even though some of us woro and have other classes aswell.

I took her for the Freelance Magazine class and she is truly passionate about magazine writing and teaching. I have learned a lot about how to write How-to, review, and profile articles. Overall, excellent professor. Just one "complaint," she doesn't tell you when she's giving a quiz, so keep up on the assigned reading.

Dr. Lowery is a very caring professor. If you're an English major, you'll love her readings and lectures. She does not always give advanced-notice on her assignments, but she would never penalize the class for it. Come prepared for lots of pop quizzes.

This was a great class!!! I wasn't sure what to expect when I began the semester, but as I learned more about the different critical strategies, I started to see where I fit in. Professor Lowery was truly inspiring about being an English major and often shared with us the joys of her profession. Great class! Great Professor!

Learned more from a sub in 25 minutes than I have in any of her 3 hour classes. Every class period consist of reviewing the busy work she assigned us for homework. Do not take her.

AWFUL!!! I would advise not to take her. She doesn't give any of your graded homework/ papers back so you have no idea what your grade is in that class. She also doesn't respond to emails. I emailed her 6 times asking for my graded paper back, non of which were responded to. Take another professor if you have the option.

Dr. Lowery gets a lot of bad feedback, but I believe this feedback is directed more towards students dislike for the subject she teaches. She's a true college professor and you can't expect to pass if you don't put in the work. If you need help she's always there and she truly cares. She's willing to invest in you if you invest in yourself.

Do not rely on feedback because she never grades and returns your papers on time. She only assigns busy work that nobody benefits from and makes the same jokes over and over again and they are never funny. If i knew she was like this i would have dropped out of her class immediately.

She's definitely into Into To Lit. But she has a terrible homework policy, and the PDQs are the biggest pain to do, as well as grading was always about 2 months behind, and wasn't aware I wasn't doing well until she graded our first assignments 2 12 months later.

Horrible professor. Her guidelines are very unclear and she often assigns work that is not even on the syllabus (sometimes emailing the night before it is due). She is a poor communicator, and one of the slowest graders in the university. Although she does give helpful feedback on corrected papers, the real problem is you NEVER get anything back.

Avoid. I was in a writing intensive course, and we never once got an important essay handed back to us, or any progress report. She often showed up late for class, and her lectures were scattered and obviously made up. She assigned massive amounts of busy work that we never got back, and were penalized for missing. Please avoid her for the school.

Didn't find out I was failed until a month after the class. very inconsistent and clear with all guidelines. Kept us over every class period even though class went until 10:30 pm. All assigments had to be turned in via sending her an email with EXACTLY the currect subject line as well as document title or else the assignment would get lost.

P.S. Did I mention how slow she is on giving back grades, even the final grade? It's now January 2012, Spring semester is starting soon, and she hasn't posted Fall 2011 grades yet... still waiting.

It is SO frustrating to have no idea how you're doing in the class, and to be in finals week already and still have only one article back. How can we improve if we don't get feedback? & She e-mails assignments to you the evening before it's due, no chance to do it early. She's way too busy & can't give us the time we deserve from a professor.

This was an upper division writing class and we have not gotten a single paper back and it's mid November... I haven't learned a thing about writing. Expect to be confused, disappointed, frustrated, and terrified if you plan on taking a class with her. She laughs at her own jokes that aren't funny. But despite that, she cares about her students.

Imagine waiting in an airport for a flight that keeps delayed. It's that, but a class. I seriously learned more from reading the free fliers at the DMV than from that course. Dropped out half-way through. Waking up for that class felt like waking up with the flu or a bad hangover. I've never tried so hard for C's in my life; so frustrating.
