Comment:
Ehhhhhh. Goldberg gets off topic easily and its fun sometimes, but its not really lecture related half the time. He says whatever he wants & he knows philosophy really well, but if you dont think the way he does he is just annoying. I didnt really like him at all except that he was enthusiastic & philosophy is very cool & mind blowing at times

Not always clear, and not always helpful when students ask for clarity. Didn't actually need any books assigned; he asked us to read, but it was never necessary as he always said everything we needed to know in class. Nice guy, and very passionate about philosophy, but not the greatest professor.

His class is him lecturing about random stuff, a lot of which does not relate to the class. He spends more time talking about other subjects. He assigns papers on philosophy topics that he has not completely covered. Unless you have a good Philosophy background I would recommend not taking him because he assumes everyone knows Philosophy.

I've taken him for Karate for the last 4 years. If you stick with it, past the 7 weeks you gain so much as a person and also you learn a very cool art form. I highly recommend it! Also, who doesn't like kick butt abs at the end of the semester?!

I think this professor probably has the most interesting life stories of any professor I've had. The class was only okay, but he was awesome.

The class is him lecturing about random topics that makes it hard to learn the material. He is extremely unclear and unhelpful and then takes off points on essays for things you have no idea are wrong. You will learn some interesting facts during his lectures but I would strongly encourage you to not take his class.

I did not care for this class or the professor. It was a big mistake! He taught way over our head, beyond the facts, which I needed to begin with. LOVES those smart, arrogant Philosophy majors and the occasional Psych. majors. Do not take!

Dr. Goldberg is a very interesting teacher, he may be a little long-winded especially when you have him for a 3 hour night class but he has a passion for teaching that you can see when you take his class. Also, the work load may appear strenuous at first, but as long as you do the work and put a decent paper together you will get a decent grade.

philosophy of science... what a waste. The class was so confusing and when he goes out on his tangents... FORGET it! LOVES philosophy or psychology majors... good luck

Dr. Goldberg is one of the smartest men I have ever met. Sure, we don't agree on politics, but have you ever studied with Tibetan monks? I think he knows a little bit about everything and that's a definate plus when it cfomes to making class interesting. Goldberg also remembers students and makes small talk in the halls.

Very condescending when you ask him a question. We really didn't do anything in class except show up to talk about things that he didn't seem to know a whole lot about and then he grades very hard but doesn't have the guts to back it up (aka gave us our papers back on-line after our Saturday final when we couldn't ask him about them)

Great guy, many really interesting stories, but I get the idea that he is a little biased towards his opinions especially when it comes to politics. For example, if I have to hear about how bad of a President George W Bush is one more time, I think i might throw up.

Pretty nice guy and he does make very logical arguments but his grading is extremely unclear. He plays favorites and I think he just looks at your paper and picks a grade out of a hat. He isn't that helpful or friendly but his class is fairly easy.
