I loved Professor Ossandon, he has so far been my favorite professor and quite a few were very good people. He does throw so difficult assignments and alot toward you, but he is a very genuine and kind man and wants you to succeed. You can tell that he is very passionate about teaching Spanish to his students, and can be strict, but he is fantastic

He is quite rude at times. He also does a LOT of tests, but theyre not really bad unless you didnt study/listen. You will HAVE to get the textbook. You dont need the physical copy, but you do need the digital. It is $200. Attendance isnt mandatory, but if you skip, you cant take the tests or quizes. So dont skip.

Professor Ossandon seems to be a really genuine guy. He actually cares weather his students learn or not. He does have a thick accent and mumbles at times. Yes the text book is a little over $200. There's a lot of homework(3-5+ hours) and the quizzes and tests are mostly written. He makes you really work for your grade but you learn a lot. STUDY!!!

Ossandon is interesting, very nice guy who genuinely wants to help people learn Spanish. Very helpful when you ask questions. Him being a native speaker is a plus. Tests/quizzes are long but doable. Disadvantages are that he rambles sometimes, gets frustrated easily and uses a $200 textbook. If you want to really learn Spanish, take him.

7 people out of 20 stayed in the class. Lots of homework and a test/quiz each week. Works really fast. I took Spanish for 3 years prior and I feel sorry for those who haven't. Talks about useless stuff. Don't take him.

Class consists of doing online VHL stuff, students writing exercises on the board, and him telling stories/going off-topic. Your grades will be VHL, quizzes, & tests. Easy class if you have latin/romance language background, but otherwise probably tough. VHL grade is based on completion but try using it as a learning tool.

He's a fun guy. The class isn't boring either, he mixes the class up by doing different stuff every 10 minutes to keep us from falling asleep. It's average difficulty but one heads up: you will need the textbook to pass, and it costs $200, I don't have it, I couldn't afford it so I need to do excellent on the exam to pass.

Terrible Professor, I'm not even sure I should call him a professor. He does not teach all he does is he gets students during class to do the VHL and what ever you don't finish is home work on top of that he gives you every exercise he has created to do for homework His quizzes are 4 pages long his tests are 7 pages long and his exam a whopping 10

Mr. Ossandon was very hard to work with. He teaches like he's teaching fluent Spanish speakers starting on day one. He speaks poorly of women and is disrespectful. He yells a lot and gets frustrated very easily. Will not be taking him again and do not recommend him at all.

Such a great Spanish professor. I took him for both SPA101 and 102. He will make you work for your grade but is always willing to explain if you do not understand something. Other classmates complained but they did not study enough. If you really need to ACTUALLY LEARN Spanish take him.

Pros: He has a interesting life story, entertaining & he is a native speaker. Cons: He is a native speaker. His lectures, if you can even call them that, don't teach you anything which is great because he gives ruffly 14 tests & quizzes, 5-6 pages long, short answer, + cumulative. He also makes a loud sucking/popping sound every 1-5mins as well.

This teacher teaches way above a spanish 1 level. I felt like I was in a Spanish 200 level course from the beginning. Nothing is clear, his grading is awful, you are honestly left to learn on your own. Good luck with that on a foreign language.

Professor Ossandon is very respectful of the students and expects respect in return. He truly cares whether or not his students learn. Many students just want to pass the class and get the credit and don't care if they learn. I, however, am there to learn Spanish. I have learned a lot of Spanish in my two semesters with him.
