I have had Dr. Brichford for five courses now, and I am so thankful that he has always challenged me to be a better writer. Yes, he can be a tough grader, but he can tell when you are putting effort into the class. He is more than willing to look over drafts, and he will inspire you to see literature in a whole new light. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Brichford is a professor that I would recommend to anyone who needs to have a good grasp of writing. I took him for 102 and 203, and by 203 my writing and increased exponentially. He is more than happy to help if you go see him, and he leaves a plethora of feedback on your paper. Yes, his class can be a little dull at times, but this is Lit.

You will have to read and write for every class. Usually one in-class essay (midterm, even though he doesn't call it that at first) and one out of class essay, along with an essay final. Grades hard, but that should be expected. Nice guy, but a hard and sometimes dull class.

I love his teaching style; it's amazing. The class will only be fun if you enjoy literature. If you need, help go to his office. He'll help you realize what you need to improve on by making you think about it rather than just spoon feeding you the answers. I will definitely take more of his classes. :)

If you think he's unfair, you're just too lazy to give the class the attention it requires. He's one of the best professors at Concord.

Dr. Brichford is a really thorough professor. I believe the reason that people don't like him is because they were used to having teachers who graded easily and held their hand through everything. If you think he's not grading your paper fairly, believe me, it's not just you who thinks so--everyone else in the class probably does too.

Best professor I ever had in any subject, period. He is an absolute maestro at running a classroom. So pay attention. If you are one of those students who brown-nosed and wrote flowery, crappy papers and always got A's in high school because of it, you won't do well: You will get C's. If you support your opinions logically, you will do well.

Completely unfair grading. I've been an honors English student my entire life and I made C's on all my papers. He is never clear in what he really wants. Oh and if you do take him, make sure you speak up in class every day because he marks down who does and who doesn't as part of participation. And don't expect to get papers back on time either

Amazing professor. He focuses on concepts, and critical thinking more than the technical aspect of the language. This is why a lot of students don't do well. I think there is a reason he is head of the English department.

Throughout the semester I thought I was doing reasonably well, but at the end my fate was secretly sealed. He stands to be my only "B" ever received in college. I would never take him again if he was the last professor in the universe. Although I learned many things from this man, his grading is very unfair!

Dr. Brichford is the WORST professor I have ever had in all four years I have been in college. His grading is unfair and he picks out "favorites" in the class. He is very rude and arrogant and I would not reccomend this instructor to anyone. Anyone planning on taking English should think carefully on choosing professors!

Dr. Brichford is halarious if you catch all his jokes. His humor is very dry, he will make a joke and not even crack a grin about it. His assignments are very easy, read the assignment and tell what you think. Syllogisms are a pain, but visit his office and he helps tremdously. If you go to one of his films, you can make up a grade.

I think Brichford is unfair to his students essays. I have always excelled in English and in this class I barely get C's. I think he could do a much better job to keep his own opinion out of the his students grades and give them the grade the paper itself deserves....not whether he agrees with them or not.

he's kind of...... he has his own way of doing things, which works for him. as a person, he's ok i guess, but as a teacher i dont recomend him unless you can pay attention really well. I have attention deficit, so its hard for me.
