I literally ended this course with a 98%. He is the BEST to have for Eng202B! I had him for Engl 30 freshman year and he graded harder for that class but for Eng202b if you just try you will get an A, don't miss the weekly discussion posts/ replies and you're golden. The books are actually good to read, take him for eng202 and you won't regret it

Lupo was hilarious, he acted strange and wore the same clothes everyday. He seemed mean, but turned out to be nice and a fun guy to talk to. Participation matters, but you can talk about literally anything in his class as long as it somewhat connects to the textbook reading, which is essential. His class was so fun I actually miss having him.

You need two books for this class that are not very expensive. Professor Lupo is amazing. There are 5 one page homeworks throughout the semester and a research essay. there are no exams and no quizzes. He is an amazing person who is super understanding. he may seem intimidating in the beginning, but he is a really nice guy.

Adam is a really good professor at Penn State. He may seem super cold and uncaring the first day of class; however, he is a very nice guy and fantastic teacher once the class gets started. Most of the class time is group discussion on readings from the textbook. He is a lenient grader for the essays. He is probably the best professor for ENGL15.

The first day he seems harsh and unkind, but he warms up a lot and is actually pretty funny. He does not grade harshly on essays (5 essays). Attendance is mandatory, but class is not painful to go to... lots of group discussion and you really don't need to do the homework readings. He wears the same black pants and gray button up to class everyday.

Adam Lupo comes across harsh and cold on the first day, but Engl 15 turned out to be one of my favorite classes. His discussions are interesting, and most of your responses are opinion based. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed, and the essays in his class are much easier than most other Engl 15 classes.

At 1st he seems a little cold with his policies however he warms up throughout the semester. He is funny, and caring. He wears the same gray polo and black pants & switches to a gray button down when it gets colder. I'd recommend him over other English profs because from what I've heard he's a lot easier of a grader. make sure to participate!

He is an average prof. He teaches and leaves and that's it. I did NOT like him at first (because he is kind of cold when you first meet him) but in the end, he was fine. Also, he wears the same grey shirt and black pants every day for some reason... but he can be kind of funny. Make sure you participate from day one.

I normally dislike English classes, but professor Lupo made this class bearable. Participation is mandatory in class, but it is easy to contribute to the discussions even without reading. Total of five 4-5 page essays that make up your grade for the course, plus easy points for revision workshops and participation. Fair grader, definitely take him.

Mr. Lupo is a chill guy, great prof who gives good feedback. There's a total of 5 essays, but it's not that demanding. Participation is necessary, but you don't really have to read to join in on the discussions in class. he encourages you to not structure your essay traditionally, and is open minded

Professor Adam is my favorite that now I have to make phrase for him on this website. I'm a natural science major and this class is designed for humanity students. It seems hard to me at the very beginning, but you got engaged very soon. He's great in talking about his lectures and making connection with students. A class that you can really learn.

You need to go to class. the quizzes every week are difficult because the questions are very obscure. No exams just the quizzes, final paper, and 5 short one page essays. nothing is online so you don't know you're grade unless you see him. loves class discussions. doesn't take excuses for absences you only get 3 free before he deducts

Class discussions were interesting. Not an unfair grader for essays. You don't really know what your final grade will be until you get it; he doesn't upload grades.

Professor Lupo is a bit of an eccentric lecturer and an easy essay grader. The entire course is about literacy and it is not very relevant to a career, unless you are specifically going into education policy. His weekly quizzes are graded on rote memorization on obscure topics from a dictionary of cultural literacy. I didn't gain much from it.

He never graded my paper. It was an incredible poignant paper describing the importance of bilingualism in society and how it contributes to both identity and literacy, to answer his main topic for the course. He refused to critique or provide me with a good response to help me improve my writing. His personality gleans arrogance. bliiind

This page may have some of the most accurate descriptions of Adam. When I first met him I automatically thought he was going to be my worst teacher but honestly he ended up being my favorite. An hour and twenty minute class flew by with him because he was very engaging and excited about his lectures. Also a very funny great guy and good grader

One of my favorite professors at penn state. The first class he seemed very rigorous, but once we got into the lecture, he really opened up. he's a phenomenal lecturer and open to the classes opinion. Probably one of the only classes where I really learned something of value.

Positively brilliant. Mr. Lupo at first appears a little eccentric, almost robotic, but don't let that daunt you. As soon as you begin class discussions and he begins engaging with you as a student, he is so animated and passionate. His layout of this class was truly eye-opening, and I don't say that lightly. I couldn't recommend him enough.

My favorite professor at PSU. I came into the class with low expectations as I am a science student in a humanities based English class. This class inspired me and opened my eyes towards many topics. Adam is engaging and his lectures and discussion based lectures make you want to class not to just get attendance but to learn something new.
