Professor Johnson was one of my favorite professors of my first semester at CMU. He is a great teacher and always finds a way to make his lectures interesting. He does his best to connect with each of his students on a deeper level and makes you feel respected. I highly recommend him as your PSY 100 professor.

Carl Johnson is a great prof for PSY100! I took him my first semester and its an easy A, go to lecture and take notes because its mostly powerpoints. Drops the lowest exam and the exams are almost the same as the practice exam so GO TO THE EXAM REVIEW!!! Also if you need any extra points he lets you get up to 20 by doing the psych studies!

PSY100 is all about memorization and not so much understanding. Johnson is awesome. He's great at exaplinging, but if you can't memorize facts you won't pass. Go to the SI sessions, because the practice tests have the same questions as the real test. Just memorize that and the terms and you'll be fine.

Carl Johnson is the MAN. Really funny guy and is super specific in his lectures, and the class is pretty easy to excel in if you just go to the lectures.

Carl is such a sweet guy! There are 7 exams, and the lowest one he drops (not including the final exam). He will randomly give out pop quizzes that count as E.C. on the upcoming exams. Be prepared to memorize a lot. Lectures aren't boring like many profs are!

The only way to pass class is to go to class. He doesn't post his lectures online. I guess you could read out of the book, but he chooses specific things to talk about and test you on. He usually went over class time because he didn't get to all his slides. He really loves the subject, but he goes too fast in his lectures, its hard to keep up.

Great professor, often tells funny stories in class, he covers the topics thoroughly and is very informational. You can pass without showing up to anything but the exams if you know a thing or two about basic psychology and/or read the online book here and there, but the lectures are helpful and not boring enough to put me to sleep.

Best Psychology professor at CMU. His class is super easy! However, need to show up at lectures because he doesn't post notes online. Lectures are worth it though. He is super funny and inspirational! He also gives extra credit. Highly Recommend!!!

I think Mr. Johnson is an amazing professor. You can tell that he knows his stuff & all of his lectures are actually amusing. I have learned so much in this class, even though I didn't do the best. He really makes you work for a good grade, but always has E.C. available. Exams are hard & I still don't know how to study for them to pass LOL

Prof Johnson gives lectures the whole class period and sometimes has bonus quizzes at the end of his lectures, but not a lot of them. Attendance isn't necessary if you have the book I guess. I didn't get the book and only take notes in class and that doesn't cover all the material but like 90% of it. His lectures are boring. His tests are hard.

Very nice and funny man! Class grade is based off of about 7 exams and that only. You have to show up and take extensive notes to do well on exams. Be a FAST typer to get all the notes!!! Most Q's on exam from lecture, some Q's from book. Good amount of extra credit available for participating in psychology studies (SONA credits).

LOVED him as a professor; very personable guy. His powerpoints are all he gives for the lectures, and about 75% of exams are from lectures, the rest is from the book. He makes it very interesting, but a class based off 7 exams and that's it is difficult enough.

Pay attention in lecture and take notes but also read the chapters because there are things he does not cover in lecture that are in the book. Also the practice quizzes and vocal training on mind tap are very helpful. Gives lots of extra credit. Go to the TA sessions, a lot of the questions from the TA session are used on your test.

Took the class my freshmen year and i regret every moment of it. His tests are nothing like his lectures, you need to ready and study the book. Lectures are fast and totally unclear. STEER CLEAR !!!
