Cristina is a great prof. No language course is ever easy and therefore hers is no different. She grades very fairly and helps you along with your problem areas. She is very open to helping you understand any concepts that are troubling you. She stresses the importance of studying because drilling vocab is the only way to learn in language courses.

If you need a job while taking her class then I recommend taking only this class. She will fail you if she feels you dont make Spanish the number one thing in your life.

Christina is a very rude woman who treats her students like they are children who deserve no respect whatsoever. If someone studdered in class when they were called on she would attack them and accuse them of being too stupid to be in uni. I really dont believe she cares about helping her students. Its a miracle I got a good grade, so work hard!!

I took this class on fall 2017. It was the worst desicion that I ever made. I strongly urge you guys to not thake this class because the professor was extremely rude to students who are missing their homeworks. She was treating students like high school kids and this was making me sick. She is a tuff grader and expects every student to know perfect

You have to work hard for this class but it's just part of learning a new language. She is humourous and appreciates students who demonstrate hard work and determination. She provides really good feedback as to what you did well and where you can improve. She cares about her students. A lot of homework but I found it very helpful.

She is by far the best instructor I've ever had. She might've given you a lot of home works but that's how you can learn and get high grades on quizzes. She also asks a lot of question in class but is related to the homework she told you to answer.

Her class is so stressful and she scares you away from learning. She's so mean and yells at you if you don't know the answer. She just goes through the homework she assigns and calls on people until they get the right answer. Also she is a hard marker and assumes you can learn 80 terms in one day every week. Good luck if you get stuck with her.

I found Cristina to run a very difficult Spanish class - little things like missing an accent (even if the rest of the sentence was grammatically correct and had no other errors) could cause you to lose 10% on a test easily. I got a good grade, but my goodness do you ever have to work for it. Get ready to work harder than ever. Never skip, either.

I enjoyed Mrs. Torres. She made Spanish fun. My only grievance is that she missed three classes because she was sick and I fell behind a bit. She cares about her students.

she does not explain well what is going to be on a test, the first test she did not explain that a big chunk was going to be on the culture readings. there was a surprise section on the final about explaining the reasons for accents and knowing the grammatical terms e.g. prepositional adjectives. oral exam was poorly explained and how it was graded

She doesn't actually teach or explain anything, and expects students to do homework on a topic before teaching it in class. The class consisted of going over answers and there was little instruction on the subject and was disorganized. When you go see her for help, she talks down to you and assumes that because you need help you don't study.

She really likes people who participate and basically show they care to be there. Since the class is small, she'll notice if you try hard and attend and she genuinely worries about her students if they are not doing well. If you actually go see her, she will sit down and help you and go through your assignment to tell you where you went wrong.

I wish my new prof at UVic was even HALF as good as Cristina. She is extremely knowledgable and friendly, and even funny! And she even made flan and brought it as a cultural thing. Small class makes it easy to ask questions and succeed. I wish I could have taken 100b with her. She really wants you to try hard and reap the benefits! Be bilingual!!

Awesome class! Read the book, do the assignments (short and sweet, clear requirements) and PARTICIPATE during class and you will learn quickly! She is eager to help if you are struggling with a concept, and is happy to practice conversing with students! She wants you to actually LEARN Spanish for your benefit. Use practice tests in text! A+++

She expects a lot from you in terms of studying/keeping up with homework, but it's really helpful in the end. She wants you to succeed but doesn't take crap if you're not willing to put the time in. Really great prof overall!

Overall, she's okay. However, I find her classes rather archaic and disorganized - students do not know what to do from one class to the next. It would be helpful if she uses some newer technology (e.g. webiste or university web intranet). Overall, as a native Spanish speaker, she has good insight, but as a prof in these times, could use impvmt

Helpful prof. as long as one tries to learn the subject. A lot of homework, but be prepared. She has a Spanish conversational class once a week in order to talk in the new language. Emphasis on all parts of a language speaking, comprehension, reading and writing. She has a good sense of humor. I recommend her wholeheartedly.

Christina is a good prof but can be a bit rude at times. This class is not easy and you have to work hard. The test are straight forward and not overally hard as long as you go to class. She is very willing to help and just wants her students to succeed. Take a class from her if you want to work hard otherwise don't bother you won't do well.
