Although I do think that the time students have to complete labs (2 days) is a bit short, Professor Ferede was a very kind and caring professor. She always wanted to help students and answer any questions they had the best way she could, and was sympathetic when grading lab work. Please take her! I ended with a 99% taking lab with her at the end.

Waste of time. lectures for lab were unnecessary and LONG. Doesn't give proper test- she READS the questions over zoom and DOES'T WRITE THEM DOWN. She spends more time scolding her students than actually teaching. Anyone who gives a good rating is because the class takes little mental effort and is easily passable. Avoid if you want to learn.

Avoid this professor at ALL COST. It's better to teach yourself than listening to her lecture. She makes lots of mistakes giving wrong info both on lecture and lab guidelines which will make you confused more than ever. Plus to that, she explains a concept that usually take approx 20 minutes into a 2 hr lecture (due to her language barrier)

Very inconsistent with everything. Syllabus doesn't match her words in class(lap report can be typed according to syllabus but she says it's not). Grading and feedback is really late. Updates of resources for writing report are really late and expect students to submit with only 1 or 2 day extension. Repetitive unnecessary amount of workload.

She's my lab professor for chem 19. Her personality is just okay. Her way of teaching is not so good. She makes the lecture unnecessarily long, pointless and dull. As all classes are online, how professor introduces and interacts class materials is crucial, but she just likes asking unnecessary questions, just to check if you are awake or not.

I had her for lab only, she is amazing!!! She explains everything so well and makes sure you understand. If you still don't understand she makes the effort to try and explain it a different way. She really cares about her students, she's funny and labs are fun. She isn't a tough grader but does expect you to understand the concept.

Ferede was my lab professor, (thank God she did not teach the lecture part), she's not a good teacher, no spark, the assignments are unnecessarily lengthy, and very pointless, I would never take her again, very dull experience, oh well, what are you gonna do, it is the struggling part of our education system.

I struggled initially in Dr. Ferede's Chem 22 class and did not score well on the first quiz. However, this motivated me to give the subject the time it needs. I paid close attention to lectures and studied from the book. I got an A by the end of the class. Chem 22 seems difficult at first, but it's doable with enough effort, if you don't give up.

Ferede is a hard prof. Workload for this class is huge feels like 4 units not 2 units. Multiple assignments due every week, lots of busywork. She likes to bark at students. She expects you to know things that she never taught. Her one and only redeeming quality is that she is a lenient grader, and takes off minimal points on tests and homework.

She was my lab prof. Must have homework done when you come in; dont ask her any questions that are on it or shell get mad. Gives quizzes based off the hw. Gets mad if you come late. Explains what youll do and teaches a little bit. She helps each group if they ask. Will call you out if you do something she doesn't like. Do all the work and pass.

Information packed course. You need to put in a lot of effort to do great. NMR topics are easy. Overall, Dr. Ferede is a good professor. However, she lacks the compassion and coolness that make an average teacher great. She flatly Ignored my letter of recommendation request despite having one of the top grades.

Don't expect to learn much in this class, pretty much everything is you teaching yourself. To do well, make sure to turn everything in and stay organized, the mini quizzes are basically free points. The exam is exactly like the study guide she sends out. Know prelab and post- lab questions or you wont do well. Lots of busy work, try to start early.

Prof Ferede is truly a gem! she's ready to put all her hours in helping you to achieve a good grade. Her exams are not as hard as expected. Chem22 can be way harder but her exams are fair, no tricky questions. The text book is definitely required to go over. make sure to do those multiple questions, because 50% of her exam is on those same exact Qs

we always hear Ochem is difficult, but with her it is totally doable! She makes you work so hard, but in the end you can totally master it, and it is totally doable, just do not take tons of classes with this one cuz it is a handful! participation matters, you have to write long lab reports, and you have lots of homework, quizzes and exams, doable!

Dr Ferede is an excellent professor; she gives u all the tools u need to succeed in OChem and will even offer class review sessions if she thinks people are shakey on old material. You can take all questions to her office hr and she will help you work them out. She will also spell out what is required to do well- listen to her because she's right!

Dr. Ferede is a very tough professor and this is probably the toughest class I've taken thus far due to the work load. Many students complain because of the work load but I honestly can't see med school or other graduate schools being any easier. She will drill you with material and all you can do is suck it up. Overall, great professor.

Shes great!! yeah gives a lot of work but honestly, if youve taken chem 22 already, you know this stuff, and if you are taking 22 at the same time, doing her work helps reinsure concepts you are learning, she really works hard to be there and is there for you, but by all means try!

The amount of work required for this 2 unit lab class is UNREAL. On top of a pre-lab every week, u have to re-summarize the entire lab into a single page. Her emails are very unclear, and she enjoys hearing herself bark at students during the entire lab period. I don't know what she's trying to prove, but by all means, AVOID.

You have to work on stuff to get an A. Go to lecture, read textbook, do homework and extra credit works, and go to her office hour. She is there to help you and gives you lots of extra credit points. She explains things clearly. If you do your homework and extra stuff she gives you, tests are easy. I recommend her.
