Comment:
Worst prof at gvsu. I spent a ridiculous amount of time studying for this class and let me tell YOU it did not pay off. His exams have so many spelling errors and the questions literally make no sense because they are sentence fragments. Ive never had an issue with any prof till Kipp. Disappointed in gvsu for letting this man teach. Good luck!

Worst prof and class ever. 90% exam which were close to impossible, he can't even spell correctly. Teaches as if he is showing off his knowledge and goes very fast. Exams were very unfair, they were on lockdown and cheat sheets never helped even though I have spent so many hours on them and my notes. Doesn't reply to emails. DO NOT TAKE HIM !!!!!!!

Kipp was a good professor. Exams are 90% of the grade but he allows cheat sheets on lockdown. Take detailed notes during lectures; I watched his recorded lectures and wrote down everything he said. Accessible and will go over exams. Final was not cumulative. I only used the book for 3 homework assignments. Everything he tests on he covers in class.

I had Kipp for online lab and he wasnt bad at all. The only thing that annoyed me was that he posted labs late quite often. He was a pretty average professor, so I dont have much bad or much good to say about him. Lab quizzes were open note but lab midterm and final are lockdown and recorded.

This is the worst professor I have ever had. His class is 90% exam graded. I went to the board of BMS to get him under review. Do not do the learning objectives just listen to what he talks about and memorize every gd word he says. Do not take him unless it is your only option and you cannot take it a different semester. he barely curves.

Kipp is a great professor in the aspect of the material he teaches, his exams however are not what he teaches. As most people on here say Dr. Kipp says to study the learning objectives and that is all that will be needed to succeed in his class, I can say for certain that this is not the case. Only way to ace this class is to memorize the book.

He tells you to just study the learning objectives and you will be fine. That is 100% NOT the case. The exams are randomly selected quizlet questions that more often than not have content you will have never seen before. He often doesn't respond to email and barely communicates with students.

Pathophys with Prof Kipp was alright. He allows you to use your notes on exams even though they are lockdown browser (thanks to a few cheating students at the beginning of the semester). My advice would be take very in depth notes, and read the objectives to see what he didn't cover in class.

Long lectures with no pauses that were all prerecorded so no chance to ask questions. Told in the first week that as long as we study the learning objectives we'd be fine. That was a lie. His exam questions were all taken from old quizlets and BARELY had anything to do with what he taught or the L.O.s. Only chance is to read the entire book.

Knows the content and material, however, has no clue on how to give students exams. It's a guessing game on what you think will be on the exam. He is relatively lazy when answering emails and providing feedback. In addition, he cancelled 4 class sessions in a semester where it was one class a week. Find another professor who can teach.

In person lectures were great but when classes moved online, my grade dropped. He wasn't consistent with when he would upload recorded lectures and presented material very fast, uploading them late and monotone. Let you use notes on exams but was very inconsistent with answering emails. Will never reply unless email is sent during his office hours.

Dr. Kipp is a really good guy who when he does lecture he gives really good real life examples to help you understand. You get to use your notes on exams, so truthfully I never studied and did just find even with COVID. He is very understanding and kind. Records everything to watch if you missed. Learning targets are clear and helpful. Pretty chill

He's a good prof who explains the topics well. He expects you to write the notes for his outlined learning objectives before coming to class, which honestly helps you understand more in lecture and participate actively with what he's explaining. He is very accessible outside of class and always willing to explain in more detail.

I did not like Kipp AT ALL! You have to take all of your notes outside of class which led to 2+ hours of note taking before each class. Im honestly not sure how he got such high reviews because he is an awful professor that does not even teach the class, the students do. If you want to actually learn the material, DO NOT TAKE KIPP

Hes a really good professor I like the way he teaches doesnt have a lot of writing in powerpoints more verbal. He lets you use hand written notes on all exams, tests were average I didnt find them too hard. A lot of work on learing objectives but they help.

Best anatomy Prof I've had. He allows you to use your notes on exams which helps tremendously. As long as you do the objectives and put in the work you will do great in the class.

Dr Kipp was a super nice guy! Very knowledgeable and I really enjoyed his class. He lets you use notes on all exams so make sure you write notes from the book. Participation matters! He will give you extra credit if you volunteer your answers. His lectures are based on objectives from book. Lots of hw. Overall good prof.

Kipp's class was definitely a flipped classroom. Lots of outside work and then he covered the material in class to make sure everyone was on the same page. I was only called on once all year, not bad. Having the learning objectives done is important to hear what he adds on but then you use it on the test! I learned his exams after C+, then all A's.

I enjoyed Brian's class although it was tough; we were expected to teach the material to ourselves beforehand so we could go more in depth in class. I didn't find the tests too difficult. We got to use handwritten notes. As long as you understand the main concepts of the chapter, you can do pretty well on the tests. Overall would recommend!
