As a student from Turkey I had his classes in late 80s. In those times hot topics were Glasnost, Apartheid and Yugoslavia. His stories were genuine and interesting. With his recommendations I was accepted to my masters and continued on to my doctorate. I am, now, very grateful to have an interesting gentleman motivated to share what he knew.

nice, happy old man. very smart, has many personal stories to share. class always ends early. 2 tests, 1 map, 1 final. just write what he writes on board and study. sometimes unclear. if you have a low grade, go to his office for extra credit

For some he may not have been a good teacher. Now, if you define the word good as someone gives you a book to read, cliché questions to answer and a formatted paper to grade then he is not a good teacher; instead, for me, he was excellent. One that prepares an individual to life as oppose to oblivious abyss of unemployed IR graduates' line (2 of 2)

Now, I am going waaaaaayyyyy back to the good old days of Realism vs Idealism at the Reykjavik summit as the cold war taping off, Divesture vs Disinvestment in South Africa and what will happen to Yugoslavia!!!! In the back drop of these scenarios that I took my first IR class from Dr. Terry during the spring of 1987. That I being said, if a stud

Repeats a lot of stories, and goes off topic a lot, but it's always a fun class, especially if the rest of the class is talkative. Grades are... unpredictable, but I don't know of anyone that was too upset with their grades.

Tells lots of cool stories but aside from that there doesn't seem to be a lot of real content in the class. All you need to know is this: participate in class, ask questions, be nice to him and suck up a little bit and he will usually slide you right through with a good grade, no matter what you do on the assignments.

The worst professor ever! Changes his mind on how he grades tests and papers without any notice. Not a fair grader and is more impressed with how many pictures you put in your papers than the actual content. The tests are almost all voc.

He was great. If you listen and take notes you will be fine. His tests are very easy. He does tell a lot of stories, and you dont have to listen to them, just listen to the facts! Very interesting teacher. Also, if you study, do well on the test and do the maps correctly, you'll ace the class.

He is the worst teacher EVER!! He lets you out early which is a plus But he doesnt teach he stands in the front of the room babbeling about the trips that he went on. Who cares?!?! More than half of the questions on the test are about things he has never even talked about and are not in the book. A word to the wise take a different professor!!!

I thought he was great. If you act at all interested he cuts you a big break on tests. But know the obscure details, and be there for class! Also, ask him questions, he gives people breaks that ask a lot of questions and pay attention.

He is the perfect example of why tenure SUCKS. Has been teaching at this school for 30 years and is a horrible teacher. He doesnt care anymore. Class/notes are extremely disorganized, and the tests are not from the notes or the book. Avoid him. He should not teach and live his miserable life alone.

I did well in the class but it was because he liked the class overall. Is an interesting guy but tells more personal stories than test material. He is picky about his grading maps and his tests are difficult; tends to have several obscure questions on tests. It's possible to do well but be careful.
