Never met a man who can speak so much yet say so little. Class always goes over because he goes off-topic, and he is terrible at lecturing and teaching his material. Easy class but he is very annoying and half of what he says is 'uhm'. Take this class with a different prof, even my TA was an absolute mess who couldn't teach.

1 exam, midterm, and final, plus an assignment. Cameras on for final, the rest were taken in person. You really need to read the assigned chapters carefully because exam questions test your knowledge wether you did or not, and take good notes on what he says during lectures.

Doc Pok is awesome! He is such a character and is a great teacher. If you show up to class and do the work then you will get a good grade. He is available outside of class and is really understanding and wants to help. He makes jokes during class which helps make lectures not dry and that's appreciated. This is my second class with him teaching.

He has a lot to say but it's usually pretty insightful. He does go off on rants but they're usually cool stories. His tests are pretty straight forward except the first 20 questions are typically true and false. I've had him for 4 classes and found his final projects to be good round-ups of the class. Not hard to get a good grade.

This class has a lot of textbook reading and lecture content. He speaks really loud and gave me a headache every day. He brings in speakers to talk about their work experience which is typical in an intro class. Overall not impressed and actually turned me away from the advertising industry.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. People told me to avoid this prof but I thought the subject of the class looked interesting. He acts like he's an expert in sports marketing but he's not even close.

He is the worst professor I have ever had. Talks about nothing the entire lecture and tries to joke but comes off ignorant and crude. Avoid him at all costs, you will be sorry if you take him. Listen to everyone on here he is awful. Tests are awful and his study guide is no help, assignments are pointless and he grades them hard.

Class is pretty straightforward but insanely boring. If you have the change to take this class with someone else, I would definitely recommend it. This is my second time taking Pok and I will not be taking him a third time because his exams suck.

The class itself isnt hard, but Pok doesnt explain anything very well in his lectures. If attendance wasnt required, I think I couldve missed every class and only read the book and done better. Basically just have to suck it up through the lectures and read the book. Do both and youll be fine.

Going into tests I never felt very prepared and found myself guessing on many questions but managed to get As on the first two exams. Did not help me decide if I want to declare my major in Advertising, which I was hoping this intro class would've done. Not many notes taken in class so it is up to you to read textbook.

This class in itself is not difficult. The topics are rather simple and the reading is easy to follow. Definitely get the book and read it for exams! Doc Poc means well but isn't good at teaching for his exams. Many comm majors complain about this class because they're used to minimal work, but if you are willing to do some reading you'll get an A.

Nice guy, fairly interesting, but not the greatest professor. Took this class because I was considering switching majors but I don't really know anymore. Also spoke pretty highly of himself.

Doc Pok does not know how to teach. He's very lecture heavy but considers looking at 4 slides out of 25 as "going over a chapter." His assignments are very straightforward and not difficult. However, his tests are awful and quite hard. Use the textbook and the powerpoint to study. I wouldn't take him again if given the opportunity

Doc Pok is a great guy. He's hilarious and genuinely a nice person. Unfortunately, he's a terrible professor. He doesn't do a great job explaining the material. I would not recommend his class to anyone.

He goes off on tangents completely unrelated to class material and makes really crass jokes and comments. The class is Media Law so I understand talking about things that are controversial but he laughs throughout the entire thing. So immature. And once you realize how much he says "um" you won't be able to unheard it.

Never stays on topic. Spends more time trying to crack jokes than he does trying to actually teach us. Doc Pok is nice and means well but he is just not a good professor. Would NOT recommend, avoid if you can.

He goes off on the worst tangents, and expects you to remember things he never covered in class. He is really scatter-brained, and much of the work and the class in general, is just boring busy work. Avoid if you can.

this guy is ridiculous, i have no idea how he became a professor. goes off on tangents. often confuses himself about the material, making things even worse for the students. says some really stupid, ignorant things. thank god for my wonderful TA, dave torres, who actually knows how to teach. read book to get a good grade on exams!

Really just a bad lecturer. Takes about 30 minutes to get into actual course content, and doesn't explain it well. No actual research paper, but "mock" papers. Class is easy if you study, the textbook is helpful to have.
