Comment:
Professor McCabe's class is pretty easy if you're taking her for freshman seminar. Just do the journal assignments, complete the required reading, and reach out to her or the TA if you need help with a research paper. She is a bit disorganized, but I found her class to be manageable and straightforward.

Her assignments tend to be confusing but as long as you demonstrate some sort of effort it shouldn't be a problem. Really hard to reach outside of class and never answered my emails. Seems like a nice lady just unorganized. Did give a lot of extra credit though to the point that I had 70 extra credit points at the end of the semester.

McCabe seems to care about her students and is passionate about writing, but her assignments are confusing and she is hard to reach outside of class. There were a lot of tedious reading assignments, and there was not enough creative writing. The assignments are not graded on quality, and as long as you do the work on time, it is an easy A.

Although her classes can get boring, she really cares about how her students are doing, especially during the pandemic. Multiple times she has let me go back and fix things on big projects or papers, which was really helpful. She does expect a lot but if you show that you care then she will help you out.

She is an absolutely amazing professor. I had her for ENGL227 which is intro to creative writing and it was an amazing class. I dont understand why she has so many negative reviews! I would hate for someone to miss out on such a good professor due to inaccurate reviews.

If I could give her a 0, I would. Absolute terrible teacher. Doesn't respond to you outside of class whatsoever and genuinely doesn't care about her students one bit

She's the absolute WORST professor I've ever had. Very disorganized, assigns long and heavy assignments ONE day before they're due, is the kind of professor that doesn't think you have anything to do other than her work, if you disagree with her, she'll fail you. is extremely rude, cuts you off in class, and overall is not good. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!

McCabe is unorganized and assignments are unclear. It's online due to COVID, but that shouldn't be an excuse for the awful organization. She assigns papers and major reading assignments 2 days before they're due. She gives vague answers to all questions. Easy A only if you regurgitate her views. Choose a different prof for E110 if possible.

I am taking this class online at home due to the Pandemic. Professor McCabe doesn't communicate, meaning she will spring large assignments on you 1 to 2 days before they are due, and she doesn't explain assignments or what we are supposed to do. To make matters worse, if your opinion differs from hers, you are automatically wrong and will fail.....

She's a nice person and gives easy As but she's sooooooooooooo disorganised with due dates. She assigned a journal based on a 120page reading plus a short response paper based on an article OVER A WEEKEND. Like yeah if her subject is the only thing I take it's fine but I GOT OTHER THINGS TO DO. If you have a chance to pick another professor, do it!

Professor Mccabe is one of the best professors I have ever had. You have to go to class, but the class goes by quickly and she tries to make it fun. She is very understanding, especially now during the pandemic. Sometimes her assignments are a bit unclear but she is more than happy to explain and answer any questions. Very accommodating!

This professor has to be one of the worst I've ever had at UD. She expects everyone to have the same views as she does and if you don't she'll fail you. She assigns very unclear assignments that are due usually within the next day. Grades very tough on these assignments and refuses to talk about the grading choice. Overall do not take her

She is very uncaring and expect to write multiple papers every week. Grades you on individual homework assignments, not for completion, but actually assigns a specific grade for every HW. Will not listen to any concerns students have about her class, and if you have an opinion that differs from hers don't even try to bring it up.

McCabe is the definition of a professor who could not care less about her students' well being. She's a hard grader, extremely specific on assignments, and inconsiderate. She insists on students buying six expensive textbooks. Treats her students terribly during a pandemic, expects all to have access to Wifi, and be able to afford her class.

claire is so scatterbrained and is unclear with assignments. she seems nice but she is SO annoying and I have no patience. there is WAY too much homework and busy work for a simple creative writing class. Each night we had to bang out another 1200 word story. Easy grader and easy A but she's just annoying.

She is not good. Do not take 312 with her unless you have no other option. She stinks. Gives a lot of work and wants the papers how she wants them. If you write it your way, she will tell you to change it.

I loved Professor McCabe. She is very nice and very lenient most of the time. She makes sure everyone gets the grade they deserve. I took 312 with her and it was A LOT of work, even outside of the class but the course was very informative. If you like to skip class, don't take her. Attendance is mandatory and your grade will decrease if you skip.

She's a good professor, but she can be disorganized. However, whenever the class was confused due to her disorganization, she would give credit or allow extra time for papers. Although we wrote a paper every week, the majority of those papers were graded on completion. I got an easy A just by doing the work.

Comment:
Prof. McCabe is awesome. I took her eng110 course and it was 1.5 page journals every week, 2 8-10 page research paper which does not need to be treated very seriously, and a final presentation. Lectures were okay, very helpful and gives good feedback. Easy grader and is very understanding. If you do the work on time, you'll pass easily.
