Dr. Townsend is a great professor. He has a very clear schedule and grading system that it's almost impossible to do badly in his class. He tells you exactly what you need to study and the material is very interesting

Simply put this professor is dull. The class material was interesting though, the low, monotone speech of the professor made the class and online lecture difficult to attach to. When asked any question he gives no straight forward answer if as answer is given at all. You'll need to rely completely on your own efforts for any of his classes.

Beware of his class. barely teaches, very boring. The only thing good about his class is the optional days but if you do intend on coming on an optional day for more help dont bother. Went to 2 different optional days and it wasnt any better nor did i learn anything more.I do not recommend him at all.

Kinda boring, but a nice person. There's a quiz every other week, and online discussions. His online video lectures can get pretty boring too. You have to memorize A LOT of words. It's a hybrid course, so you're not required to attend most classes, but you should. He will help you out and be more understanding if you go to the discussion classes.

Most of his lectures are online and can get boring to listen to. There are discussions that we have to do based on the reading and questions are a bit difficult to explain. Professor is very caring and wants you to succeed, all you have to do is ask and he will help you prepare for the exams and discussions.

The class is a hybrid course with online lectures that are hard to listen to because of the quality. There was several quizzes on the online lectures that were hard to complete as well. He is not clear in class or on the online lectures and he takes a lot of pauses which make it harder to understand the meaning of what he says. His grading is rough

Not a bad professor. There were many optional classes but the classes he tells you that are mandatory you have to go to and cannot get away with any excuse. Definitely read the book for the 7 quizzes you have to take. Boring and monotone but need to study to do good on the quizzes. I would take this professor again because of his optional classes.

This professor is absolutely inconsiderate. He does not care for his students nor does he care for your safety. Never cancels class regardless of how bad the snow is. monotone voice where you can't help but fall asleep and all of his lectures online are of him sucking his teeth and talking softly in his monotone voice. Test & discussions impossible

If you put the effort in this class isn't that bad. It is A LOT of work but if you ask for help he is always there and takes that into consideration when grading. Overall good professor and would take again! But if you are lazy and don't put in the time then don't bother.

I just hate this class, quizzes are so hard and bring my grades down a lot. and you won't learn anything from this class, he teaches you nothing. Classes are always boring, no one actually listen to it. I wish I could take this course with other professors :(

BORING!Monotone! There are blogs& group blogs. Memorize 40 definitions for online quizzes every 2 weeks,BUT!The definitions on the quiz are ALWAYS different from the ones you memorized from the book and lectures..So that's not helpful at all, I always got 20/40. Material is confusing, semester is over and I still don't know what cognitive science is

Not an easy class, the material is complex, and you need to pay attention. If you're interested in the material you'll like the lecture. If you ever need help with anything you can always ask after class and he'll explain. 7 quizzes and an essay. And yes, you have to take notes, but I found it much easier to just read the book.

hard/boring subject but he is extremely helpful if you manage not to fall asleep his lectures are helpful, he makes u think he takes attendance but he does not count it, however, it is necessary cause its hard. There are 7 small quizzes with just matching terms(he gives u the terms beforehand)it is not easy need to study but not that bad/hard

Everything he says in class, is always on his exams. Taking good notes definitely helps out on the online quizzes. Every single example he gives is reflected on his online exams. Your either a good or bad note taker.

Coursework is difficult to comprehend but Townsend is pretty clear. You will have to think pretty hard though, no joke. Quizzes are done online from home (easy if you pay attention), and there is 1 paper with clear grading guidelines. It is an easy A if you are a good studier. The biggest problem is how boring the lecture is and a lot of notes.
