Carley is an amazing writing professor. I am not a great writer by any means and she really encouraged me and made me feel comfortable. There is little hw and sufficient time for the 2 essays we do in which she guided us through it. 100% wish I could have her every semester.

Compared to my other classes, this writing course allowed me to temporarily escape my academic writing and let my creative side loose. The classroom environment feels inspiring thanks to the informal yet academic group discussions and peer review workshops. So grateful for courses like these!

Professor Moore is the best professor I have had during my first year at NYU (and I had some great ones). She is inspiring, caring and compassionate. Her class structure is engaging and she brought readings that were interesting and sparked intellectual discussions in class. I have definitely become a better writer with her guidance.

Carley's great. I took her for both Writing I and II, and overall enjoyed my experience. Participation and discussion are key. Readings can be long, but digestible. Always gives good feedback when workshopping papers. A must-take.

Carley did some kind of magic and somehow made our class into a mini community. For a writing class that was so fantastic to have because everyone was able to write, share, and critique on a deeper level. Will miss this class. Only non-positive thing I can say is that her essay grading criteria was a little vague.

I had Carley Moore for Writing 1 & 2 in the LS program. If there were a Writing 3, I'd take it with her too! She challenged me more than any teachers I had in high school, but she also gave me creative space to be a human being and develop my unique voice as a writer. She cares genuinely cares. We need more Carley Moores in this world.

Carley is the best writing teacher/professor I've ever had and the first one who actually taught me how to be more articulate and write an essay that matters. My class loved Carley so much that we literally once went one-by-one and told her what we liked about her. She's a professor that'll change your life!!

She always pushes you to do the hard thing. It's going to be challenging, but it is deifinitely worth it. Two essays per semester, but she will help you through it; a few small assignment at the beginning, and a blog post during the semester. Everytime you feel like giving up she gives you a reason to stay. Take her, you won't regret it!

Carley is the sweetest and most dedicated professor. She genuinely cares about her students and wants us to succeed. She introduces the class to a lot of great readings and books that actually help us improve our writing skills. Though the homework sometimes seems to be a lot of work, it all has a purpose. She never assigns busy work!

Carley is the only professor I have ever bothered to review on Rate My Professor. She is the kindest, most genuine person. She made Writing such a wonderfully explorative and enjoyable course - I never once wanted to skip. We had to write two papers and a blog post, and her methods of teaching and analyzing made the 8-10 pages easier than expected.

I love Carley as a person and a teacher. She's a generally awesome person who cares about her students. However, don't take her if you're looking for an A. She's a tough grader, and is very blunt when she doesn't like something you write. It can hurt sometimes. THAT BEING SAID, she's a lovely person and knows what she's doing!

Carley is an incredible woman and great teacher. she is patient but doesn't let people walk all over her. she gives a lot of freedom in how we write and has so much wisdom. my writing improved so much over the course of one semester and it reminded me of why I used to love writing so much.

It's like her voice is drowning her face to sleep. Easy class if you can deal with the monotone. Her thoughts are extremely abstract and one has difficulty at times relating the assignments to every day life. Otherwise, a wonderful person.
