Julie is a great professor! Very knowledgeable and passionate about her subject- encourages you to do well. A lot of assignments, but they're short and do-able. You will regularly be doing work for this class but it's easy, interesting, and relevant for the real world.

I've had professor Caswell for several different courses. She is always extremely clear about what she expects and that makes the class very easy. She is one of the most understanding professors you'll ever have at umass and she is always willing to help. Take her classes!

This class was extremely easy!! Julie was pretty helpful and so was the TA. She sets the class up so that every student should do well. Despite it being really easy I still learned a lot too!!

iclicker points participation bonus actually help you overall grade, and you can miss 4 classes. Doesn't hurt you if you don't go. Class is easy to follow and interesting. Julie is sweet and funny. Exams involve a lot of writing, but if you study your study guide, it's easy. There is a decent amount of work, but it's easy and interesting.

class is not hard, just alot of work.you have something due everyweek (case study or disc. forum). they arent difficult, just very tedious. she uses iclicker for attendance. tests are basically 95% open response (short answer+essay). Lectures are SO BORING. pro tip: bring laptop and watch videos or play games in class. slides are online anyway

Listen to what the last post said. Its way too much especially when you have other work for your MAJOR. Every week there is something big to do whether its a case study, discussion, or exam. Not to mention a final paper on top of it all. Way too much.

Do not take this! It is way too much to do, easy, yet annoying and aggravating at times when you have other work to do for your actual major. Things have changed in the past year with her course so everything these other people are writing is irrelevant.

I am taking this right now for what I thought would be an easy global ed. It is sort of easy just way too much work for a 100 level. 3 exams, 5 case studies, discussions, and a final paper. Not to mention the exams are a bunch of essay questions. ENJOY

Caswell is a very kind and caring professor. Her class, although a bit boring at times, was quite informative. I found it to be one of the easier classes I have taken. I received an A without ever reading the book and missing approximate 50+% of the lectures. Just make sure to do ALL of the assignments and you will do just fine.

Was recommended by one of her graduate students, but I'm not impressed. Her econ creds are great, and she's definitely good at what she does, but she's an incredibly boring lecturer. Might be nicer in a smaller-class setting. She also really needs a dose of critique. Don't take RESEC121 if you know anything about the subject.

Really great class. Eye opening and you learn a lot. The professor can be boring here and there but does grade the papers pretty easily. Exams are essay so you need to know your stuff. Class is mandatory due to PRS. Take it.

Great teacher! Very interesting Class! I highly recommend taking it! There were 6 papers but the lowest one is dropped and each is about 2 pages and are graded VERY easily. 3 tests total and each one is pretty easy as long as you study. PRS is used but she drops the PRS grade if your final is higher.

The way to succeed in this class is either to do all the homework OR take amazing notes during class. If you do both it's extremly repetative. While she's done a lot of work in her field and you can learn a lot from her she's a huge prick when it comes to duedates and grading. Stay on top of your work and do it exactly as she outlines it.

Overall, a fairly easy and interesting class. You don't really need the textbook. All the slides are available on SPARK. Try to go to class because PRS participation counts toward your final grade.

Easiest class I have ever taken. Interesting subject but way too easy. I was bored 100% of the time. Show up, do homework for other classes, and click your PRS. Don;t take this class if you want to learn anything at all.

I learned a lot of new stuff in this class, but it was kind of boring sometimes. The projects are simple, easy grades, but the tests depend a lot on your presence to class.
