Professor Bryan is a fantastic and intelligent human who is committed to seeing her students grow as writers. She is always willing to help and provides excellent feedback on both drafts and final papers, so you know exactly what she is looking for. The texts from this first-year seminar were interesting and I always looked forward to this class.

Prof Bryan is awesome. Best professor I've had in a while. She really cares about her students and makes classes really fun. Would definitely recommend taking a class with her. Sometimes I feel like instead of looking for interesting classes I should look for classes she's interested in and take those. Withdrew for medical reasons nothing else.

If you do the (LOT) of reading, you will find her lectures deeply insightful and often hilarious. The class may be an easy A, but you learn /so/ much. Bryan is one of the reasons I chose to come to Oberlin. She loves what she's teaching and knows so much about it. Take her class and relearn to love reading.

Professor Bryan is amazing and makes you think about literature in new and exciting ways. Excellent feedback on essays and great in office hours! She facilitates discussions very well. You can tell just how smart she is, easily one of the smartest people I have met before. She knows so much and offers her views through our discussions. A true gem!

Shes the best professor Ive ever had the pleasure of having. Shes witty, hilarious, passionate about what she teachers, and I dont think a class has gone by where I havent laughed. I have had such an amazing time and while the readings are somewhat long and extensive, they are interesting and well worth reading. She gives great feedback too!

Took the Chaucer. Was not expecting to love the class but I loved the class. Even learning Middle English was fun. She says very interesting things, and so do kids in the class. Would take another class with her. Didn't find her to be a particularly tough grader, either, though I wanted to succeed.

Top notch prof, keeps enthusiasm and interest up even in difficult subject. I took an extra English class this semester, instead of a joke class, just to take one more class with her.

She's awesome. Assigns quite a bit of work, but tries to be helpful and require prep work for the papers (which works with some people's work styles and not others, but the effort is worth noting). Her lectures are awesome and insightful.

She is amazing. Gives a ridiculous amount of work. But Guh. Guh. That is all I can say. She is GREAT. Smart, thoughtful, HOT, sympathetic, HOT, and really helpful, especially during office hours. I'm not an english major, but I felt like 10 sonnets a night was a lot of reading...

Her classes require a certain sort of masochistic tendency to survive (she'll work you to the bone), but you will be begging for more afterwards. Excellent lecturer, excellent professor all around.

Hwaet! I took Chaucer, Medieval Lit and Hist&Struct. with her, though the subject matter was unrelated to my major- and they were three of the most fascinating, enjoyable, and challenging courses I took at Oberlin. She's a great lecturer, and eminently approachable. TAKE ANYTHING WITH HER!
