As a later historian, I was not looking forward to this class. However, Crazy Lew opened my eyes to a whole new historical process. I became enthralled with the material. Totally awesome professor. Take his class!

Despite being an 8:30, Professor Lewis' class was my favorite. He's a hilarious guy and knows a lot on the topics he covers. The only down side would be he talks pretty fast during his lectures, but is willing to go over material again. Encourages a lot of participation during discussions, but it isn't required.

He is a great professor. He talks very fast and you need to take good notes. But he is hilarious and lively and keeps you wide awake in class. I loved going to his class.

The discussion-centered class is an interesting class that explores an interesting topic. Good luck taking notes, just participate in discussion and vote for the in-class midterm and final. Take it if you are interested in early American history.

I loved Professor Lewis because he kept the class lively, and held your attention, even at 8:30 when you wanted to be in bed. While he speaks quickly, his energy level and humor make the moderately hard tests worthwhile.

I loved this class, Professor Lewis' lectures were engaging and kept you awake at 8:30 in the morning and he was very funny and tried to involve the class in the discussions. Not an easy grader, but if you do the readings and pay attention, you'll do well. One of the best professors I've had.

If you take ths class with him make sure you take good notes or get a study group to share notes. His lectures are loaded with information and he goes really fast, so make sure you go into this class knowing that much information. Otherwise, I think he was really cool and a great professor.

Pompous, full of himself with no substance to back it up. Lectures are unclear and hard to follow. Voice is annoying, especially at 8:30 AM--he preaches like he's trying to sell you something. Tests and essay questions are straightforward but difficult since they are based on his lectures.

Really nice and funny, BUT...the midterm and final are based off of his lectures. You basically have to pay attention and take detailed notes on everything he says or you're out of luck. The papers are based off of boring books he assigns (but really aren't that bad if you try hard.) Overall, a decent class but NOT an easy A.

He's a nice guy and tries to be funny, but he is completely unclear in his lectures. He will digress, and since there is no real text, you have no idea what is important. If you know a lot about history already then he could be a nice refresher, but as a gen ed, his class was completely horrible.

You'll wish you'd never been born. Or better yet, that he'd never been born. Someone give this man a soapbox to stand on and a tinfoil-lined hat.
