Dr. HIldbrandt is super knowledgeable and passionate about nutrition but her lectures can sometimes be all over the place especially when given online. There is a case study style quiz every other week that she grades tough on, but gives good feedback. She did drop the lowest test score, several in-class activities, and gives extra credit though!

Professor Hildebrandt is very passionate about nutrition and sustainability. However, she did not seem very organized and due dates were constantly changing. Read the syllabus carefully because her grading system can get confusing. It took me a long time to figure out what my grade was. Pay attention in class because the quizzes are very in-depth.

Her lectures are somewhat dull, but she tries to keep it interactive and asks questions. You do need to attend most classes for credit. This class absolutely requires a lot of time and effort, but if you do the work and do it well, it is an easy A. Just be prepared to put the time into this class. There are extra credit opportunities. :)

I will always take as many of her classes as I can. She has so much knowledge and not enough time in a class period to share it. I always left the class wishing it were longer so I could learn more from her. She is also very understanding when life gets in the way of schoolwork here and there.

Dr. Hildebrant is a great professor and a really nice person. But she is so disorganized and all over the place. Her rubrics are confusing and unorganized. She lectures for two weeks then pulls a random quiz question on whatever she feels that morning worth 20 points. Atleast give the class an idea of what the quiz will cover.

There are no exams, but there are big projects due for this class. It is a lot of work, but if you don't procrastinate you will be fine. She is very passionate about nutrition and will help you no matter what. I skipped class a few times, you gotta know what days are good to skip. Still doing good in the class.

I took the 3 week version in the summer. You have something due every day, but I found it easy. Directions aren't always clear, but she was super helpful and accessible outside of class. Intelligent, nice and prolly the most passionate instructor I've ever had. Advice would be to be proactive and ask questions in class, do that & you'll be fine.

Extremely specific grader down to every detail. Although she gives descriptions on what she wants in the assignments I still had no idea what I was doing. I would spend many hours on the assignments and still get many points taken off for minor issues.

I think she has a lot of passion for what she lectures to you but her project/assignment instructions are always very difficult to follow. She seems often scattered and pre occupied.

Prof Hildebrant is an awesome person and a great teacher- this class was just so horrible. It moves so fast and although you do activities to prepare you for projects you never, ever know what you're doing. A class at CMU has never made me cry more than this one. It was so stressful. My advice: GET SOMEONE'S PHONE NUMBER FROM CLASS + SHOW UP!

Shes super busy all the time and she is nearly impossible to get ahold of. Ive emailed her 9 times in the past 2 days about a project thats due tomorrow and she hasnt emailed me back. And she has that if this was the real world your boss wouldnt give you a second chance attitude. Lectures are dry. Assignments only. No presentations. Dont.

Leslie's job outside of teaching is the sports nutritionist for CMU athletics, so she is very knowledgeable. The class has zero exams, only projects. Personally, I think this is really nice. However, there are a lot of projects that come one after another, so you will have quite a bit of homework. If you do the work, you should get an A.

Dr. Hildebrandt is a great choice to do research and independent studies with. She is well respected throughout the Sports Nutrition community, so her feedback carries a lot of weight. My only complaint is that she spams your email with tons of daily emails, and the work she wants you to do sometimes isn't fully explained. Great lady, though.

I have previously taken a class with this woman and adored her. Now, she is so preoccupied by sports nutrition that she make many mistakes during lecture, refuses to meet outside of class, refuses to answer questions via email, delays class to make food for athletes, says a lot of contradictory statements during lecture.

Great professor. Very hands on with working with athletes on nutrition. She loves when students want to help with research so if she asks - DO IT!! I'm currently doing research with her and I love every moment of it. A++

Dr. Hildebrandt is an awesome professor. She is the head dietician for the CMU Athletic department, so she has many connections for students to get real hands-on nutrition experience. She is meticulous with grading, but is very accessible outside of class to answer questions. Very nice, easy going, and super smart. Definitely would take her again!

Dr. Hildebrandt is a wonderful professor and great to get a long with BUT her grading and her amount of work is just ridiculous. A lot of the nutrition minors in this class felt non-important as she mostly cared about her dietetics students. Her notes are scattered. Her directions are not always clear. Be prepared for a handful...

I have never been so infuriated by a professor in my life. Leslie is not only pompous but cares little about her 375 students who are 90% athletic training majors. Prepare to hear the phrase "course pack" until your ears bleed and to have the complete knowledge of a dietician shoved down your throat in 16 weeks. Terrible professor.

By far one of the most influential teachers I have ever had. She is so knowledgable, and I have learned tremendously from her. Very helpful & understanding and really takes the time to recognize her students work. The class is NOT hard, but very time consuming. I personally had a lot of fun, and never missed a class!! You won't want to!
