She was nice and really did help you if you were willing to learn. She demanded respect which came off as rude at first but overall as long as you did the reading you were alright for the tests.

She is a very good teacher and will take extra time to explain things to you. The tests are straight from the book so if you read you'll pass. Attendance is Mandatory but overall good teacher.

Her lectures can be interesting and the attendance is mandatory. The most difficult thing for me was that she doesn't make a study guide for her tests. She does give you her lecturing slides to study, however, I put in a bunch of time studying and there is still questions on the test I had no idea to study for.

Teaches the material relatively well but reading the textbook makes the class much easier. Tests and quizzes are about average difficulty. She's strict against cell phones, to the point where she has her TAs patrol the room looking for people using them. Attendance is mandatory and graded. All in all not the best but not the worst.

Horrible teacher. Teaches like a high school teacher (attendance, can't leave for anything, etc.) Everything is straight from the book so if you memorize it, you'll get an A on the exams. Her exams are all extremely specific questions directly from the book. Easy class if you just study wayy before the exam.

Worst class ever. The material was pretty interesting, but the online homework and lectures were completely pointless. Everything is STRAIGHT from the book. only 5 question on the test MIGHT be on the test. I took her class because her tests used to be online but they aren't anymore. She calls people out that leave early and she's RUDE.

NEVER take her for an upper division class. Is completely unclear, never answers her emails after telling you to contact her that way, and has completely unrealistic expectations for an undergraduate class. She handed out a midterm study guide with over 250 terms and concepts, and her research paper is ridiculous. Had to read 7 books for one class.

She is a great teacher, but still pretty tough. She does give assigned seating so that her TA's can take attendence while she's lecturing. She gets distracted very easily if you get up or she sees you on your phone. You must read the book and take notes to be able to pass her quizzes and exams. Its reasonably challenging but not intense.

Very intelligent and good professor, however it was a difficult class. Lots of details but she knows what she is talking about. This class requires a lot of reading and keeping up with all the work. Study notes everyday! Good professor, tough class.

Not a bad class, just online homework with 1 lesson due per week. Tests are hard, really need to study her slides!! That's where she gets a lot of her information. Stay caught up in this class and really start studying for her tests 2 weeks before so it's not all piled up at once.

Very boring and overall just not a great teacher in my opinion. She talks about random stuff. Gives you assigned seats in a 250 person class. Like really? Calls you out if you go to the restroom and just treats you like you are in elementary school. Did not like this class one bit.

Rather monotonous teaching; boring; spends way too much time on petty information that is not relevant to the test. I have to dig into the textbook chapters (which are 30+ pages long) just to keep my grade up. Not recommended.

I took really detailed notes just to stay awake. Cares a lot about students learning. Mandatory attendance. First 2 tests were online. Go to her action centers, they are helpful. TA's walk around telling you to put up phones and wake up. She asks questions and puts you on the spot a lot. Did not look forward to class, but could have been worse.

Comment:
Professor Ellis is a good teacher, very clear and helpful. However, her extra-credit opportunities are unfair. She offers chances to attend lectures on campus and write about them, but ONLY Democratic speakers. She offers no points for attending lectures by Republican speakers that take place on campus (yes, there are some!) Needs to be less biased
