mary is a wonderful teacher in literally anything else other than the unity engine. she has a ton of experience in coding and is personally there if you need help, but some questions asked are brushed off and are expected to just be known immediately. if you are taking her class for game development, STAY AWAY or GOOD LUCK, group projects are hell

Professor Rasley's classes are tough but she is fair, allows us to pick our deadlines, and goes out of her way to help and strengthen the skills of her students. The material is tedious but she answers all your questions and tries to make the programming fun. I recommend her, but be aware that she will make you earn the grade.

Comment:
Mary's video game group projects are absolutely infuriating. She seems to have no idea how to design a game, giving groups advice like "put random doors in your levels to confuse the player" among other things. If you want to get into any software industry you'd be better off self-taught; Mary won't teach you anything useful.

Retire! How is the oldest person in the department teaching video game design??! Most of her classes grade you only on tests, just like back in the 70s. Mary, its time to retire.

It really is an easy A if you try. For Spring 2019 it really isn't hard if you want an A. The few homework assignments were easy and the tests even easier. She allows you two sheets of notes so there's no reason why you can't get an A on them. The only iffy thing is the group project. Though a lot of it is handed to you in code.

Mrs. Rasley starts off strong. Then she gets quite a bit worse. Struggles with teaching unity.

WORST instructor I've taken so far. never helps with students that need help and will not help students that she thinks are being rude to her. we are never given any ideas on what to study for our tests and treats people as if they are slow if they tell her that they don't know a specific material. sets you up for failure.

Terrible at giving information on how to debug or make codes from word problems. When students ask her for help with understanding the material, she states "you know it" and does nothing to help us succeed. She gives no idea on what specific things to study on the test and we're is stuck rereading chapters but still not understanding anything.

Mary is tough. She knows the material but doesn't spoon feed you and gets a kick out of making you figure it out. The assignments/tests are usually convoluted and you seem to spend more time thinking about what mind set she was in when she created the test/assignment than what the actual answer should be. Get ready for harsh grading.

I am a new-traditional student with experience in information technology. This course with its emphasis on how to develop the logical problem solving and thinking skills is tailor-made to develop real world skills. Professor Rasley sets expectations for standards that will help you in a job environment. IF YOU NEED HELP, ASK she is available.

Mary Rasley is such a terrible professor that three years after graduation I decided it was worth the effort to go back and tell people how terrible she is. She covers the trifecta of (1) not understanding her own material, (2) being unwilling to help her students, and (3) grading sporadically and harshly. Avoid her at ANY cost.

Teacher, not a professor. Huge difference. She taught us how to make a welcome screen in UnrealEngine4 and gave a link for youtube. She expects you to make a huge progress on your own not really knowing how to create games or what even game programming really is. Sweetheart person - Bad teacher. Danger for students' futures and knowledge span.2/10

If given the option, never take s class she is "teaching." I had a group that tried asking for assistance with a problem we had, and basically ignored our group for 30 min., Til another group pointed us out. She will not care for the students trying to understand, only the ones that already do. Either you teach yourself, or find a tutor.

Great teacher, works to make sure everyone understands the material, but this means lectures end up talking about the same thing over and over. The assignments aren't too bad, taking about an hour or two each max, and there was one or two a week. Tests were more vocab based than material based. Overall, I would take class with her again.

She is so rude some times, like other people said, do not try and correct her. You will piss her off! She is very nice and a very good person, but she tends to explains things for tooooo long and it gets very boring and you have no clue what she's talking about.

If you want to actually work in industry and be able to demonstrate what you Mary is the best, bar none. I think Mary actually could easily teach at a Lehigh, Bucknell or Drexel and challenge her students. We are lucky to have her.

She can become bias very fast; it is her way or the highway. Other than that, the workload is huge and if one thing is off she will practically fail you for it on the assignment. The highest possible grade anyone can get is a 95%

This was my first online class and she made it a wonderful experience! I was lost and scared at first that I was going to screw things up, but she was very clear and when you asked her questions she got back to you. And the few mistakes or problems I did have she was very forgiving and worked with me to get through them. Highly recommended
