Comment:
His way of teaching communication was very confusing. Except of teaching us how to speak, he only prepared us finding things what to write in our speeches and confuses us with things he repeats. He loves choosing favorites and grades harshly even thiugh he doesn't tell you what you need in your speeches.

This guy is a pretty bad professor. I had him 2 years ago and I didn't learn much. Its ironic that he is a communications teacher since he can't really explain anything well. Not even the most simple ideas. Every time he talks, he just confuses people into oblivion with hundreds of questions since nothing is explained well. He is a complete joke!

You end up leaving more confused about the subject than when you started. Gets irritated when the class doesn't get what he is saying and directs his anger towards us. Was absent for 1/5 of the semester. With no warning. Gets offended if you don't memorize his whole life story. For your sake and for the sake of learning take someone else.

Very respectful to his students. Consistent attendance and having the textbook are both extremely important. He takes and gives constructive criticism well, and listens to what his students have to say.

He repeats himself a lot. He also gives a lot of feedback on the speeches that you make. During the whole class you will end up writing about 6 speeches.

Cato is old school; he doesn't use email, uses handouts rather than PowerPoints and takes attendance. There is a fair amount of work and he has high standards, but he does give written feedback with all speeches. He's a little disorganized, but overall, a good professor.

Showed up late to EVERY single class for the whole semester. He speaks in an annoyingly slow way and repeats everything he says twice. That bugged me a lot. He picks favorites and openly shows that. Come on, we're all here to learn and you treat some people much better than others?

This guy is a sorry excuse for a professor. Doesn't even teach how to speak, just spends class time explaining what you have to put into the upcoming speeches. The rest of the class time was spent listening to others speak. Nothing else. His class was extremely dull. and was just a huge waste of my time.

I found Prof. Cato extremely helpful especially with the Thesis being he is a stickler about this. He practically hand fed us the information and assignments during this intersession class. He broke everything down to the LCD. I feel I learned a fair amount of info to help me in the near future. I would definitely take Prof. Cato again if needed.

Literally the worst professor I've ever had by FAR. Unorganized, interrupts speeches constantly, grammatical/spelling errors all over anything he hands out, doesn't stick to what he says in class in terms of due dates or grading criteria, arrogant, rude, waste of time to listen to... do yourself a favor and don't take his classes.

A difficult professor, but an excellent one. Has years of experience; uses his own book for the course; a stickler on thesis statement. Personally, I found Professor Cato to be very well organized and sticks to his syllabus. If you are willing to do the required work you will get an A...He grades fair and gives you what you have earned.

Cato is cool. The class is more about content than the actual speeches. He's a nice man and is willing to work with students to get the work done. If you don't want to do any work, don't take the class. If you're a hard working student who does the work...you'll get an A. I like him and recommend him.

A very unorganized teacher. Not difficult to get an A or B if you do all the work. Lots of essays for a speech class. Overall: a mediocre teacher who seems like he just started teaching even though he's been doing it for a long time.

If you like a teacher that favors African-American students, you are in! He definitely has his favorites, which makes the class somewhat annoying. He is very unorganized in regards to scheduling speeches too.
