The worst professor I had at Cal. Lectures were a waste of time -- nothing illuminating or even mildly thought provoking. As a Finance major this course was a big disappointment. Lectures and homework had nothing to do with test questions.

Professor Wilcox is a nice guy but this class isn't terribly interesting. Since it was an hour and a half it seemed VERY long. We rarely got through all the slides too. Sometimes he goes off on tangents but it's all good. Pay attention, read the book for clarification, spend time on the problem sets, and study. You'll do fine then.

One of the best Professors I've had at Cal. Print out the lecture slides, take notes in class, and get with friends to do the problem sets and you should get an A.

Very enthusiastic lecturer! It's fun to watch him teach. You need to do more in this class. Go to GSI's OH to do well on the HWs since the class is curved. Also study the materials you're given for the tests since they're straightforward. If you pay attention and know how to draw the graphs, the tests will be okay. He doesn't pull tricks.

Very enthusiastic professor. Loved his style of teaching. Cracked a lot of corny jokes. Ingrained important concepts by saying it over and over again. Especially about Missouri being the Show Me state. You'll do fine if you go to class and take good notes. Do P.S.'s with friends and you'll learn it quickly.

Lecture were easy to follow and actually helped. Problem sets relatively easy. You had to study for the exams but if you did, wasn't hard to do well.

Not the easiest class, but very possible to get an A. Go to office hours before PS are due and he will help you a lot! Understand the major concepts which he goes over and over in class and you should be fine. Don't get caught up on the small things. Know the big ideas and don't worry about the math.

great class! although a business requirement, you learn a lot about what's happening in our economy... class is not so difficult, but the curve makes it difficult... go to OH's when completing problem sets, they really help :) go to lecture, readings not that bad, and midterm and final are straightforward and not extremely time pressured.

very peppy - kept me awake during lecture. i had some grading issues at the end of the semester which he was very helpful in resolving. it was my first haas class, so i was a little lost, but it ended up fine.

Could tell he was really into the subject matter, but he was boring. I had a good GSI who helped me understand everything -- i didn't really get any of it from lecture. Midterm and final weren't super difficult -- there's a good curve.

One of the worst professors I have ever had at Cal. Lectures and homework do not reflect exams. Lectures do not help in doing the homework. GSI's are not helpful for homework. Professor does NOT handle administrative matters in a timely and professional matter.

It seems no matter how hard you work the material is still unclear. I got the highest score in class in lower division macro but a B+ in this class after working my butt off. I think if you don't see him during his office hours you don't get all the info you need from lectures and the book is horrible.

Lecture wasn't always clear, and we didn't always get to all the slides, but he goes over the important ones. More importantly, he is an excellent source of help during office hours. He really takes the time to explain the concept to you until you really get it. Chances are he'll give you answers to the homework too.

Wilcox is very eager to teach and interested, he sometimes doesn't get through all the slides and adds fluff to a concept but he's a smart man. Midterm was easy and straightforward, the final was pretty hard, however. Homeworks make you think but it's an easy curve.

He leaves out info on slides to make you attend lectures. However, he NEVER gets to the point. ( I could not learn from him at all) The book doesn't complement the lecture that well, thus making it hard to learn the material. He doesn't let the GSI discuss HWs before you turn it in. Eventhough the curve is 40% A, I regret taking the class.

One of the most disorganzied and frustrating classes I've taken at Cal. Lectures are not related to HW or exams whatsoever. GSIs are not helpful at all. Entire class is very unstructured and hard to follow. Never get back HWs on time. Exams themselves are not too tricky.

Goes off on tangents a lot. Lectures are very disorganized and you can't learn off the powerpoints. Wilcox makes 1.5 hours seem like 3. Homework is unrelated to lecture and textbook, but it makes you think. The tests aren't that bad, but be careful with the wording.
