Comment:
Sheldon as a person and professor is great and you can tell he really cares about what he is teaching. However, you are literally only graded by 4 exams throughout the course of the semester so it is hard to maintain an A- for example. Other than that, I loved this class and feel like I learned a ton.

Sheldon is a fun guy, but his PS101 class was huge and he recorded all of his lectures and put everything on blackboard so it wasn't necessary to come to class. Didn't like the huge class because you don't get the chance to have one on one with the professor. Additionally, the only thing you're graded on is the exams, which is tough.

Sheldon isn't strict about attendance but almost all of the things on the exam are said in class so I would not miss class. He is a very nice person and meeting him for office hours is really helpful! Definitely one of the best professors at Skidmore

My class with him had 120 or so students, whoever he made his lectures so straightforward and interesting that I much preferred that class to any of my other (also good) small-sized or discussion based classes. Grade is only based on 4 multiple choice exams but Sheldon has a real knack for making multiple-choice hard with how he phrases things.

I took his Human Dilemmas class first semester freshman year. The class was challenging because his papers are long and intensive. However, he allowed us to rewrite a paper and gave me 9 pages of feedback on an 8 page paper. He is tough but wants his students to succeed. Everyone should take a seminar class with Sheldon before graduating!

This dude is the bomb dot com, dot gov, dot edu, dot everything! As someone who does not enjoy lectures, I find myself to be very attentive in his class, and he always makes the material (which is challenging) very easy to process when he speaks. Great dude, 1010 would do again, and you need to take psych 101 with this dude.

Sheldon was one of the best professors I've ever had. He was my seminar professor and that was one of the best experiences I've had yet at Skidmore. He makes sure you have a good understanding of material and truly prepares you for college writing. He is a tough grader but gives you a chance to redo your work with notes longer than the paper itself

On the first papers ever, he gave us a pass. He said that the grades we got didn't count, and most people got Fs, Ds, and Cs. There were two Bs in the entire class. Just context for how tough he is. However, he's extremely engaging, hilarious, and insightful. He also gives good comments, but you have to have tough skin.

I recommend taking Intro Psych with Sheldon if you have any interest in psychology. I've learned a lot about mind and behavior, and this has been my most applicable class so far at Skidmore.

Sheldon's a great guy- knows his stuff, makes it relatable to students, and is really fun to listen to. However he does a lot of talking at you rather than listening to your ideas/opinions. Hard grader, but I'd like to think it's made me a better writer. He's pretty accessible and willing to give help as well.

Didn't really enjoy my class with Sheldon. Everyone wants to have him so the classes are huge. He isn't very funny and he curses far too much to be cool anymore. He over explained simple topics while I was puzzled over the more difficult ones. I guess it's worth the experience and you don't have to go to the big lectures very often.

Sheldon is the man. He's funny and connects really well with everyone (even if it's an 100 person lecture). He's really clear and extremely bright. Loves talking to students about anything. Dresses like a hobo (which is hilarious) and loves jamming out to music before class. Best professor at Skidmore, hands down.

Sheldon is a modest, slightly-crazed, genius with a wicked sense of humor, and tells it like it is. Take the class, show up high at least a few times. Preferably every time.

I was a freshman when he first arrived there as well back in 1985. Three of us got A's and the rest got D's in his inaugural LS1 class; "Whoa! Looks like the friendly hippie is serious!" Found it bemusing that an 18k-per-year (back then) school offered a class taught by him called "Psychoactive Drugs." He was a pretty decent guitar player too.
