Comment:
Attendance isn't mandatory, but the only way to get any information is through the lectures. He tends to go off on tangents and the homework with Pearson doesn't really match what you learn in lectures. He is very strict about getting to class on time.

This course was online and asynchronous. Lectures were posted on Sunday night. We had weekly homework due on Wednesday, discussion board posts due on Thursday and Friday, and a quiz due on Sunday. One complaint I have is that the assignments were sometimes opened only about 12 before they were due (opened at midnight, due at noon).

Don't get me wrong -- this is not the easiest of classes but this guy makes it so much harder than it needs to be. Very intelligent guy... horrible professor. Quizzes have nothing to do with his lectures. Exams are worded to trick students. Would suggest to find a different professor.

Long and dense lecture followed by a quiz that has little to do with anything he just taught, D- to C- average on almost all of them. Does not know how to effectively communicate and teach material. Changed grade weight distribution last week of school dropping scores anywhere from 4-8 points.

Worst professor I have had. His lectures are dense and they do make sense when watching them but quiz questions have NOTHING to do with the lecture or reading. Average quiz score is 6/10. He changed the weight of assignments on the last week of classes and my grade dropped 6 points. Don't show up to class late or he will humiliate you.

Comment:
Elliot and his questions are consistently confusing and often have no relation to the videos or lectures given. The average score on quizzes is a 6 -7/10. He gives no work to buoy your grade and tricky exams lead to a much harder class then it needs to be. If you take this class expect a C. Avoid if at all possible and do not show up late to class.

Elliott is a solid choice if you have a good work ethic. Show up on time or not at all, he will scream at you in front of the whole class. His lectures are sometimes confusing, but the SI sessions are key to do well. Put in the work, this isn't an easy A

Dr. Elliot is not an easy teacher, he is a good one. His ECO 201 class is easy to pass as long as you keep up with what your supposed to be doing and pay attention. Extremely likable guy and fun in class, exams are tough but not impossible especially if you go to every lecture. He does not tolerate people showing up late to class in the morning

Professor Elliot obviously knows his stuff. However, he does not translate it to lectures in a way that is very effective, or conducive to his students learning. Notes are exclusively hand-written by him, and are not published online. Attending class isn't required, but I'd recommend it if you want to pass. Definitely have to work for a good grade.

Avoid him at all costs. He is a funny guy but he does not care about his students and his lectures are all over the place and hard to follow. I went to his office hours every week to ask for help and he would never really answer my questions and would do the bare minimum.

Really good teacher. If he sees you want to learn, he is very helpful and caring to his students. Gives great notes, takes questions, and is always available for office hours. He can come off as a bit aggressive, but is really nice when you get to know him. Highly recommend taking him, I actually have better understanding of the course b/c of him

Elliot does not care about you and gets offended my the slightest of things. Avoid him. He seems to make understanding the subject easy. While the exams seem straight forward, you wont answer correctly without thoroughly understanding the material. The exams questions are extremely tricky. AVOID AVOID AVOID HIM!

I enjoyed Elliot as a professor. If you attend every class and pay attention the exams won't be too hard. He also provides very clear review guides for each exam which were helpful. And his in class lectures are usually entertaining

Worst professor I have ever had. Would definitely not take his classes again. Never care about students, exams are ridiculously difficult, not even trying to be helpful. If you think you do a great job in exams, no you will not be as you never know what he expects you to answer. Email responses are rude and not helpful as well.

Worst professor I've ever had. Attendance not being mandatory and no math sounds nice, but don't let it fool you. Class is stupidly hard despite material being easy to understand. Constantly makes errors on exams and in notes. Horrendous grader, very subjective. You don't even need the book for class, just for homework which is also terribly hard.

Comment:
Very tough professor. Does not give rationale for unclear exam questions; instead, says, "It says what I want it to say." The way the information is presented in class is not similar to the way it appears on exams. Uses the bare minimum of math, so if that's a strong point of yours, take someone else.

His lectures are super clear, and usually funny, and he is one of the few teachers that won't throw obscure formulas at you. Just learn the graphs of economic situations, how they change, and what changes them, and you should get an A.
