Comment:
Dan Holland was alright. He covered everything he needed for the class, his lectures are specific but boring and too cluttered. The tests are essentially similar to the homework which is given out online with the answers on them (at least for PHY105) which helped out with the addition of bringing a 1 page cheat sheet to the tests. Could be better.

This guy does not know how to teach a STEM class. He's very nice guy and means well, but he does not go through examples carefully and goes through slides too fast. But the labs are extremely easy and short, and often gives out extra credit and grade boosters. Really great guy, loves physics but not a great teacher. Lost of multiple-choice tests.

If you havent taken a physics class before I highly recommend not taking his class. Dont get me wrong hes a nice guy but hes very montone and class can get boring but please go! He doesnt give a schedule for when test and quiz days are and will sometimes tell you when they are in the previous class day. Go to lectures, lab, office hrs,do the hw,STUDY

If you are a non-physics major, I do not advise taking Professor Holland. His lectures are dry, and his quizzes and tests are rather difficult. I came out of the class wishing I never had him to begin with. The only upside is he lets you use one sheet of paper on exams, but there is a lot of content, so one sheet is hardly enough. I warned you.

Dr. Holland is one of the best professors in the department. The class can sometimes be boring since he just does derivations. Tests are not as hard as homework. You learn a lot of programming in this class.

Absolutely wonderful class! Mr. Holland made the class as fun as any physics class could be, and kept the math to a minimum. Tests are 70% of the grade but were fairly easy. He posts all of the lecture notes on his website, so buying the book is not necessary. I got an A without too much trouble. Highly recommended.

Very Nice Guy, Helpful, and willing to listen. However if you are a person who relies on emailing teachers. He is really bad at responding i've sent him to email prior to test days and he has never responded to them.

This guy, he's goofy and says weird things that made me laugh. I actually starting writing them down on my notebook. He's a little different, but it was one of the more fun classes I had. Not too hard either. Recommended.

THe material was tough but the teacher was awesome. The study guides for tests were very helpful, plus class was always entertaining. We had demonstrations including creating pickle lightbulbs (and yes they did glow). Hard work needed but great teacher
